Most people don’t know that my love of bridal began 20 years ago when I was working at a bridal shop in Australia. There was something so special about being around all the beautiful gowns and helping brides try them on until they found the one. When I found out that Elle was engaged to Matt and that I would be working with Elle to create her dream wedding dress, I knew that we had to begin with the traditional gown-shopping appointment element.
While Elle had a good idea of what she wanted her wedding gown to look like, there were still a few elements up in the air. It was important to me that she tried on a variety of gowns since this was her very first dress-shopping experience. Here is everything you need to know about shopping for your Martina Liana wedding gown:
- Try on a Variety of Gowns
You won’t know what you like until you try on a selection of gowns! Vary the necklines, sleeve length, silhouettes, etc., to really try a wide variety. From here, you can narrow down which features you like and those you do not like.
- Select the Gown That Feels Most “You”
After you have tried on a variety of wedding gowns, you’ll most likely know which gown is “the one!”
- Determine How You Want to Accessorize
Will you be wearing a veil or is a floral crown more your style? Do you want to add an overskirt for the ceremony to add a certain “wow” factor? It’s important to take this all into consideration while you’re at the bridal salon, with the gown in front of you.
- Work With Your Retailer
My fantastic retailers are all trained to assist you with any questions that arise during the gown-shopping experience. From scheduling alterations to helping you select bridesmaid gowns to match, they’re ready and willing to assist with anything you may need!
