Real Martina Liana Luxe Bride LauraLeigh and Alex’s love story was nine years in the making. From meeting their sophomore year of high school to exchanging vows at their wedding. Their big day was a beautiful reflection of their story. From heirloom china to a shared private dinner together.

LAURALEIGH, TELL US ABOUT YOUR PARTNER. HOW DID YOU MEET?  

Alex and I met our sophomore year of high school. By the time we got married, we had been together for nine years. 

WHAT WAS YOUR PROPOSAL LIKE? 

Alex somehow managed to surprise me with a proposal in front of a beautiful lake in Charleston. He even had a photographer hiding nearby! We both cried as the moment solidified our love and dedication to each other. 

DESCRIBE YOUR BRIDAL STYLE. 

I wanted my wedding dress to feel classic and romantic but also feel a little sexy. I had recently been inspired by romantic lace and basque waists and had wanted a Martina Liana gown for years, so as soon as I saw my dress, I just knew. It was the seventh dress I ever tried on, and I immediately called it quits. 

HOW DID YOU FEEL IN YOUR GOWN ON YOUR WEDDING DAY? 

I had never felt more feminine or beautiful than I did in my wedding dress. The basque waist accentuated my curves beautifully, while the mesh back and buttons created the classic look I wanted. The train was everything I had envisioned and more. I am still truly obsessed with this dress! 

HOW DID ALEX REACT WHEN HE SAW YOU IN YOUR WEDDING DRESS? 

We didn’t do a first look, so when he saw me walking down the aisle, he busted into tears. When I finally reached him, he told me I had never looked more beautiful or more like the woman he wants to spend his life with. 

TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR WEDDING.   

Alex’s dad recently passed away, so we left a space among his groomsmen to represent him. We also used his parents’ wedding chalices, and our wedding cake was the exact same design as my parent’s cake. One of my favorite details was using generations of floral china from both of our families for our sit-down dinner. Alex and I even enjoyed a private dinner served on our own wedding china. I also wore a silk gown belonging to Alex’s late grandmother while getting ready. 

WHAT WAS THE MOST SPECIAL MEMORY FROM THE DAY? 

My favorite memory from the day was when everyone jumped into the pool after the band’s encore. It was such a fun way to end an amazing celebration of our love with our favorite people.
