From an Instagram DM to a private boat proposal to a reception filled with love and energy, Real Bride Olivia and Raphael’s love story is absolutely swoon-worthy. A timeless black and white wedding venue made the dreamiest backdrop for Olivia’s glamorous bridal look—Martina Liana 1510 paired with a stunning overskirt for all the drama.Â
OLIVIA, TELL US ABOUT YOUR PARTNER. HOW DID YOU MEET?
Raphael and I met the modern way—an Instagram DM! Throughout the years, we grew closer at mutual friends’ hangouts.
When it came time to get engaged, we knew we wanted a private proposal, something where we could share the experience. At the same time, we wanted our friends and family there to congratulate us.Â

So, Raphael planned a private three-hour boat ride! About 30 to 40 minutes into the ride, our “boat instructor” lied and said she wanted to take a picture for their Instagram page. At that moment, I was at the front of the boat facing the water, and Raphael got down on one knee behind me.Â
From there, our “boat instructor” told us she was actually a professional photographer, and we spent the rest of the ride taking pictures and soaking it all in. When we returned to the dock, my family and closest friends were all waiting with a huge banner to congratulate us!
DESCRIBE YOUR BRIDAL STYLE AND TELL US ABOUT YOUR DRESS SHOPPING EXPERIENCE
For my dress, I’ve always wanted a glamorous look without it being too over the top. I described to my bridal stylist that I want elegant glam and sparkle without it being in your face. I was torn between a princess ballgown or something more fitted. I opted to try the overskirt on top of Martina Liana Style 1510, and I fell in love. It was wonderful because I could remove the overskirt during my reception for more mobility to dance.

TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR WEDDING.
I wanted my wedding to be timeless, something I will always look back on every detail and still love. With that, I decided not to go for any specific colors that may be “trendy” or any colors I was currently loving. I stuck to black and white for everything with small touches of gold. My bridesmaids wore black, and it was so beautiful and timeless.Â

We got our dance floor wrapped in white with our monogram in black, but in the corner, I included the words “I love you more…” which is what my husband and I always say to each other.Â
Â
The most memorable moment from the day was truly all the energy and love on the dance floor. I was nervous about being the center of attention; I don’t always do well with that. The energy was different this time; I truly felt so much love around me and was so grateful throughout the day.Â
Cheers to Olivia and Raphael!
