Real Martina Liana Bride HelenAnn + Patrick

This Real Bride and groom’s love story is one for the ages! From their proposal to the big day, everything about this Colorado wedding was absolutely stunning.

The couple wanted to share their favorite vacation spot, Glenwood Springs, nestled between Vail and Aspen, with their family and friends. Therefore, they chose the magical mountains of Colorado as a backdrop for their stylish black-tie celebration. From the lakefront outdoor ceremony overlooking the mountains to the indoor reception accented with touches of sage green and a hint of rustic elegance, every detail of the day was flawlessly executed.

The gorgeous bride, HelenAnn looked like a vision in her Martina Liana Style 1266 wedding gown, which she beautifully transformed into two different looks for her ceremony and reception. Her first bridal look was both sophisticated and elegant with a timeless and modern feel. She wore a trendy pearl-beaded veil over a sleek chignon with a custom-made over-size bow that was added to the back of her dress. The bride’s second wedding day look took a note from the classic Old-Hollywood style when she curled her hair, wearing it down and donning a vintage-inspired hair piece and glamorous gloves.

Read on to learn more about this couple’s love story, wedding planning journey and their oh-so-special big day.

Tell us About your Proposal…

Patrick and I met in Tucson, Arizona. When we were dating, one of our favorite weekend adventures was hiking on Mount Lemmon. One Sunday, Patrick took me hiking on the Arizona trail along with our dog, Korah, and friend, Josh. We stopped at the top of the mountain, overlooking the city of Tucson where we fell in love, and Patrick proposed! It was romantic and so intimate.

How Did you Know that Martina Liana Style 1266 was “The One?”

I wanted a “simple” wedding dress that spoke for itself. I ended up going dress shopping twice, the first time in Colorado at The Bridal Collection with my mother-in-law. I tried on Martina Liana Style 1266 and LOVED the dress; however, I wanted to dress-shop with my family and bridesmaids too, so I decided to wait a few months to actually say “I Do” to the dress.

There were three months between my dress shopping experiences, and I couldn’t stop thinking about Martina Liana Style 1266. I even had a dream about it. In November, I went to Carolina Bridal World in Burlington, North Carolina and finally solidified my dream dress. I wanted a bow on my wedding dress so badly, as my sister also had a bow on her wedding dress. A designer from Martina Liana was in the shop the day I picked out my dress and helped me customize and add a bow to the back of my dress. I love the modern style and clean lines of this dress; it is so flattering and absolutely stunning.

How Did you Make your Wedding Personal to your Style and Love Story?

My husband, Patrick, is from Golden, Colorado and it was an easy choice for us to decide we wanted to get married in the mountains of Colorado. We have vacationed every Christmas since we met in Glenwood Springs, and we wanted to share this special place with our family and friends.

Our summer wedding theme was black tie, and our colors were black, white, gold and sage green. Our ceremony was outdoors overlooking the mountains and Harvey Gap Lake, with its crystal blue water. We had so many amazing details from a custom photo booth and neon sign to a welcome champagne wall. We included our favorite cocktails in the ceremony and many personal speeches. Patrick is also a pilot in the United States Air Force, so, we included a paper plane send-off to incorporate our love for flying.

Every single moment of our wedding day was absolute perfection. Some of my favorite moments are when my 5-year-old niece and flower girl tried on my wedding dress for photos that I will share with her on her wedding day. Patrick and I also had a final private dance to end our night that was so special and romantic.
