Real Martina Liana Bride Angie & Shawn

Real Bride Angie and her now-husband Shawn’s lives intersected at a time busier than ever—Angie, in the thick of nursing school and Shawn, studying for law school. However, that didn’t keep them from falling in love. Shawn proposed the day after Angie’s birthday—a celebration to remember.

The celebrations only continued with their wedding day, a day full of nods to Angie’s Mexican heritage, from a mariachi band to a menu of traditional Mexican drinks.

Keep reading for more about how Angie achieved her dream wedding look, sparkling in Martina Liana Style 1367.

ANGIE, TELL US ABOUT YOUR PARTNER. HOW DID YOU MEET?

Shawn and I met in San Diego while I was in nursing school and he was in law school. He was originally going to propose on my birthday, but I accidentally spoiled the surprise by planning a birthday party for myself. Instead, he proposed to me at Newport Beach the day after my birthday. When he saw me for our first look, he cried.

DESCRIBE YOUR BRIDAL STYLE. TELL US ABOUT YOUR DRESS SHOPPING EXPERIENCE.

I wanted a clean, timeless wedding. Our theme was entirely black and white with nods to my Mexican heritage tied in through the decorations, table numbers and signage. Martina Liana Style 1367 had just the right combination of vintage glamor and modern romance I was looking for in a wedding dress. The stunning, off-the-shoulder sleeves, sheer back and lovely floral lace details were so luxurious and the glitter overlay added a beautiful touch of shimmer.

IN YOUR OWN WORDS, TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR WEDDING.

Our wedding colors were black and white, and our signage included words in Spanish to highlight my Mexican heritage. Our first dance song was played by a live mariachi band, and our table numbers were in Spanish with a papel-picado design. Our dogs wore Filipino barons with little Mexican and Filipino flags on them, and we served traditional Mexican drinks to keep the theme and celebrations going!

Cheers to Angie and Shawn!
