Real Martina Liana Bride Lexie and Steven

Real Martina Liana Bride Lexie & Steven

Real Martina Liana Bride Lexie’s wedding was full of moments that reflected who she and Steven are, from their Catholic faith and Hisapnic heritage to the dance floor complete with larger-than-life versions of their pets.

From a mariachi serenade to a newlywed blessing from Pope Leo XIV in Vatican City, tradition played a special role in their story. Lexie said “I do” in Martina Liana Style 1752, a lace fit-and-flare gown with a sweetheart neckline, styled with a mock neck bolero for her Catholic ceremony.

Read on for Lexie’s full story, from an unexpected Christmas party meeting to walking through the Holy Doors of St. Peter’s Basilica in her wedding gown.

LEXIE, TELL US ABOUT YOUR PARTNER. HOW DID YOU MEET?

I met Steven at a Christmas party that I didn’t even want to attend in the first place! After some begging from my best friend, I finally agreed to attend the party with her, where I met my now-husband, and the rest is history!

WHAT WAS YOUR PROPOSAL LIKE?

Our proposal took place at his family’s ranch under the most beautiful sunset I’ve ever laid eyes on. It was so unexpected, and just the two of us. It was such a beautiful and intimate moment.

DESCRIBE YOUR BRIDAL STYLE.

I knew I wanted a dress that was form fitting with no beading – just pure lace! The second I laid my eyes on Martina Liana Style 1752, my jaw dropped! It’s a lace fit-and-flare gown with a sweetheart neckline. I felt like it was so difficult to find dresses without beading or sequins.

Our wedding was in a Catholic church where my shoulders needed to be covered, so I added a mock neck bolero jacket underneath my dress for the ceremony that made me feel like pure elegance.

TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR WEDDING.

In additional to wearing my wedding gown for our wedding in the United States, I wore it to Vatican City in Rome for our Newlywed Blessing by the Pope! We got to sit in a special section up front during the papal audience, and we had to wear our exact attire from our wedding day in order to sit there and receive the Sposa Novelli blessing from Pope Leo XIV. I also got to walk through the Holy Doors of St. Peter’s Basilica with my wedding dress on –  such an amazing experience and blessing.

Our dance floor also included details that made the celebration more us. We printed giant cutouts of our dogs and cat so guests could dance with them — they were a hit, and everyone wanted one to take home! We also hired a giant LED man on stilts and a giant teddy bear to party with us on the dance floor.

In an integration of a popular tradition in our Hispanic culture, Steven hired a mariachi band to serenade us during dinner.

HOW DID YOU FEEL IN YOUR GOWN ON YOUR WEDDING DAY?

I felt absolutely stunning and confident during my wedding day.

HOW DID STEVEN REACT WHEN HE SAW YOU IN YOUR WEDDING DRESS?

He was completely blown away by my dress! Once I got to the altar, the first thing he said was, “WOW, this dress!”
