Real Stella York Bride Emily and Boston’s wedding was a celebration built on the love of their friends and family. After falling in love during their college years, the couple exchanged vows at an intimate beach wedding where every detail was thoughtfully created by the people closest to them.
Emily knew Stella York Style 7573 was her dress the moment she tried it on. She found her gown during her very first bridal appointment and took it home that same day, confident she wouldn’t find anything else like it. She felt like it had been made just for her.
EMILY, TELL US ABOUT YOUR PARTNER. HOW DID YOU MEET?
Boston and I met in college while working on a musical. I was the lead and he was the music director. A year and a half later, he popped the question under Northern Lights on the beach in my hometown.
DESCRIBE YOUR BRIDAL STYLE.
Going into wedding dress shopping, what I thought I wanted ended up being completely different from the dress I chose. But the moment I put it on, it just felt so me. I visited the boutique by myself and walked out with my dress that same day because I knew I wasn’t going to find anything else like this.
HOW DID YOU FEEL IN YOUR GOWN ON YOUR WEDDING DAY?
Everyone’s reaction to my dress was, “That’s so Emily!” I surprised all my girls with my gown on the day of my wedding, and it’s safe to say everyone was brought to tears. I’ve gotten non-stop complements on the dress, but more than that, I truly felt completely myself and so beautiful. You could tell every detail of the dress was given such close attention, which made it feel incredibly personal.
HOW DID BOSTON REACT WHEN HE SAW YOU IN YOUR WEDDING DRESS?
Boston had no clue what my dress was going to look like, and he was completely stunned. In his own words, he “Couldn’t believe it.” He loved that a dress was made so unique and detailed. In fact, he has already requested that I wear it again on our anniversary.
TELL US MORE ABOUT YOUR WEDDING.
It was incredibly important to us to have a wedding that felt intimate and personal. Nearly every detail was created by someone we love. A family friend prepared the food, my sister made the cake, family members baked the desserts, my second cousin was our photographer, a friend styled my hair and we celebrated on a friend’s beach. Family and friends also helped decorate, and my father-in-law officiated the ceremony.
WHAT WAS THE MOST SPECIAL MEMORY FROM THE DAY?
One of my friends sang “Yabba’s Heartbreak,” while I walked down the aisle, surrounded by the people who mean the most to us. Our wedding was built on the love around us.
