Walking down the aisle to the music of the violinist who performed on one of their very first dates, Real Stella York Bride Nicole and Josh’s love story came full circle in a celebration of harmony and romance. From the moment Nicole met Josh, she knew he had the makings of a great husband.
After a surprise proposal, the couple planned a timeless wedding in the English countryside. It was a black and white theme, classically elegant, and in Stella York Style 7749, Nicole looked just as timeless as the day itself.
Previous to finding her dream dress, Nicole was nervous she wouldn’t find a style that felt like her, but looking in the mirror in her dress, she felt confident, beautiful and like the very best version of herself.
NICOLE, TELL US ABOUT YOUR PARTNER. HOW DID YOU MEET?
From the moment I met Josh, I knew he had all the qualities of a wonderful husband. We met through work, and from the very beginning he was kind, thoughtful and had a heart of gold.
WHAT WAS YOUR PROPOSAL LIKE?
I make surprises quite challenging, always wanting to know every detail. Somehow, Josh managed to pull it off, surprising me with the most incredible proposal.
He popped the question during my birthday trip to the Lake District, surrounded by our closest friends and family, turning those few days into a dreamy, love-filled week. It was the perfect start to our next chapter together.
DESCRIBE YOUR BRIDAL STYLE.
When it came to finding my wedding dress, I’ll admit I was hesitant. I’d been told repeatedly that I’d need straps to feel supported. Everything changed when I slipped into my Stella York gown. It was strapless—something I never thought I could wear—yet it fit like it was made just for me.
HOW DID YOU FEEL IN YOUR GOWN ON YOUR WEDDING DAY?
Looking in the mirror, I felt content, beautiful and completely myself. It wasn’t just a dress; it was a dream I didn’t think was possible. Walking down the aisle in my gown, surrounded by those I love most, I truly felt like the best version of myself.
HOW DID JOSH REACT WHEN HE SAW YOU IN YOUR WEDDING DRESS?
Josh knew that I was hesitant about dress shopping. I wanted to make sure I found something that felt like me. When he saw me on the big day, he was completely made up. Seeing his face in that moment is something I’ll never forget.

Leading up to the wedding the weather had been hit or miss, but we opened our eyes that day to beautiful sunshine, as if the day was made just for us. Laughter and excitement filled the morning as my bridesmaids and I got ready.
Our wedding was a timeless celebration, elegant yet intimate with classic black and white colors set against the backdrop of the English countryside. We had many thoughtful touches and an atmosphere of love.
WHAT WAS THE MOST SPECIAL MEMORY FROM THE DAY?
As big music lovers, Josh and I wove subtle nods to our favorite bands throughout the day, creating moments that felt uniquely us. One of my favorite details was the violinist who played at one of our very first dates welcoming guests and walking me down the aisle, a full circle moment.
From the first notes of the violin to the high energy of the saxophone player closing out the night, our wedding was a symphony of love.
