Top 20 Must-Have Products for Your Bridal Emergency Bag

As I write this blog post, I am debating with myself whether to go rogue and do my top 20 list of must have products in your bridal emergency bag instead of 10. As a makeup artist, over the years I have had to solve hundreds of on-set mishaps- so I know whatever can go wrong actually might go wrong. Life happens.. Hopefully not on your wedding day though. Even the most carefully-scheduled wedding day can have its “unexpected moments” ..so chat to your bridesmaids or matron of honour about keeping a tote or travel bag to ease some of the “oh no’s” of your special day!
I feel I need to go rogue and give you 20 tips on what you should take in your emergency kit! As 10 just won’t cut it. This kit will keep you ahead of the curve when life…happens.

1. Hollywood tape or fashion tape. This tape will help keep any wardrobe malfunctions at bay. Helps with bust lines, hemlines and anything that needs to be held together.

2. Band-Aids. This will help cover any blisters from dancing, cuts or nicks that occur on your day.

3. Tylenol/Advil. For any headaches due to stress, and Advil to relieve any inflammation. These two tablets act differently, so have both on hand.

4. Safety pins. For when your dress doesn’t stretch as far as you can! It happens… it shouldn’t, but can so be prepared.

5. Tissues. This is pretty much a no-brainer. Mini meltdowns, happy moments and wiping off fingerprints and any evidence. Just kidding! You know what they’re for!

6. Breath mints. For keep you fresh as a daisy!

7. Deodorant. Again, feeling fresh through the day is essential for your sanity and others.

8. Eyelash glue. I have seen people not used to wearing lashes get misty and wipe those things right off! Make sure you have glue for moments just like these.

9. Q-tips. For wiping any eye smudges off.

10. Eye drops. For after tears redness and lubrication.

11. Feminine Hygiene. Enough said.

12. Travel-size fragrance. Fragrance minis are all you need to smell like a rose after your dance floor escapades.

13. Toothpicks/floss. To keep your smile epic.

14. Travel-size hairspray. Hair can decide to do its own thing, however it’s done. Wind, dancing, and taking out the veil can all mess up your magnificent mane, so keep this handy.

15. Mascara. Waterproof formula applied on the day should help – but ladies, they can send man to the moon but they still will have trouble with making mascara waterproof. Bring extra!

16. Concealer. This will be the quickest way to freshen up your makeup. Applied lightly under your eyes, around your nose, and on any spots will make you look brand new again and ready for your close up!

17. Lipstick. Well, is he going to kiss you?!

18. Hairpins. These slippery little suckers disappear with all the jumping around and dancing you do, so keep these handy to make sure you don’t look disheveled.

19. Eye pencil. This will define your eyes and make you look pulled together fast. A must have.

20. An affirmation card. Ladies, life happens and you don’t want the little things to ruin your day or happy spirit. Have fun. Don’t let the turkeys get you down! Suggested card: ROLL WITH IT, FIRST WORLD PROBLEMS, etc.
