Real Stella York Bride Sheila + Chris

Bubbly, charming and downright dreamy, real Stella York bride Sheila’s wedding was incredible. We love how this California bride kind things focused on friends and family during her wedding planning process and how she incorporated her Stella York wedding dress into her laid back theme. Congrats to this crazy couple!

From the bride: Chris and I met in college 7 years before we started dating. For New Years Weekend 2016, Chris booker a wine tasting trip in our College town San Luis Obispo. I was hoping it was our proposal trip, but by the end of the day having traveled to a couple wineries I gave up hope. I went to get my hair done for the New Years Eve party we were attending and when I got back to the Apple Farm Hotel, where we were staying, he had tea candles lit and rose petals in a circle on the ground, bent down on one knee and asked me to marry him with the most gorgeous ring I had ever seen! We spent that night celebrating the new year as an engaged couple!

I knew I had always wanted a sparkly ball gown. I went to a couple of different stores looking for embellished gowns and falling short. A woman in one of the stores asked me to just try on the Stella York #6432 in Moscato and I agreed. Once I put it on I knew it was the one. I searched for it in white, found it and once I tried it on I was sold! I wanted a romantic/rustic wedding so the layers of the dress fit my theme perfectly. I received a million compliments on the dress and I couldn’t be happier with my choice!

Malibu is one of my favorite places to go. I grew up going there most weekends with my family. Chris is a surfer, when we started dating we would go to Malibu often for dates. I knew I wanted a Garden/ethereal theme and Calamigos was the perfect choice for us. I chose deep red, pink, and champagne as our color scheme which brought a pop of color to the Rustic look at Calamigos Ranch. I wanted my guests to feel like they were in a Secret Garden.

The reaction of my new husband seeing me for the first time during our First Look was, for me, the most memorable part of the day. It was very meaningful to us to have a private moment to spend together prior to our guests arriving. I have never seen him emotional before so that was something I will never forget.
