I met my husband when we were in middle school! We were best friends and dated in high school and college. We decided to part ways as young adults since he was in the military, and we were living on opposite coasts. Once he ended his term, we reunited and didn’t look back.
As for the proposal, Dominic planned a weekend getaway to go glamping, and we hiked early morning to see the sunrise. As we packed up, he surprised me by getting on one knee and asking me to marry him. It was beautiful— just us in nature!

We got married in Lake Coatepeque, El Salvador—the country my mom is from. We fell in love with the venue. It is located near one of the most beautiful lakes we have visited, and we wanted to share that place with our friends and family.
We had a traditional Catholic ceremony in a small church that had been in that town for over a century. It was the perfect setting for an intimate ceremony. When my husband saw me walking down the aisle, he teared up, making me cry as well. It was so emotional after so many years of being together. Our reception overlooked the lake and was the best place for us to dance the night away.
