Hot Wedding Trend: Modern Wedding Cakes

Once a bride says yes to her perfect wedding dress, she can relax a little and have fun planning the details. This season, we’re seeing more and more geometric shapes and patterns throughout wedding design. Brides can find a number of ways to incorporate this, but the tastiest way? Your cake!

Gone are the days of a formal over the top cake. Your dessert table is just one more way to put your personality into your big day. Your wedding cake can be more than just a sweet treat at your wedding, it can be a work of art. Modern, geometric patterns are showing up on cakes and they look just as good as they taste. No longer are wedding cakes just for the traditional cake-cutting photo-op – it’s the main centerpiece at your reception.

Simple and modern wedding cakes have wowed the wedding world with their chic beauty. Combinations of bold lines and texture in black and white will always look sophisticated, and simply stunning. Add in a bright color for a cheerful twist. White-on-white design can be just as beautiful to keep it crisp and more on the traditional side – and won’t stain your wedding dress!

You can go as wild as you like, or opt for a subtle approach. It’s easy to pull off this look using your wedding’s color pallet or signature theme. My favorites below are more than just a sweet treat, they’re a real work of art and look almost too good to eat, almost.
