We are truly enchanted by Megan and her award-winning bridal shop, De Ma Fille Bridal, in Fort Worth, Texas, and we are sure you will be as well! Megan first came to know De Ma Fille in early 2011 while working as a stylist in the shop – a position she took as part of her training to become a wedding planner.  Her plan for an amazing start within the industry quickly changed as she became smitten with the gowns, the brides, and all of the romance and excitement that the store created.  She knew right away that someday she would own her very own boutique, what she didn’t know was that her someday started within the same year that she began working there.  In August of 2011 Megan jumped at the chance to have the store as her own when the previous owner expressed interest in moving on.  This is how we’ve come to know De Ma Fille, today, and it is well worth a tour – join us!
 
We asked Megan all about the Fort Worth bridal shop, and what’s trending in the Texas bridal market:
What wedding dress trends are hot right now in your area?
For us, lace is always a classic choice – it never goes out of style. Also, our girls love  beading because it is their day to shine!
What’s the number one thing your brides are asking for?
A lot of brides tell us they want a really unique dress – whether it is a unique style of lace that you do not see often or an awesome back that wows their guests.
How do you make the bride’s experience memorable?
We want to make sure our brides have a fun and memorable experience. Not only do we show our brides wedding gowns, but we ask them to look through and see if anything catches their eye. We get personal with the bride. We ask anything we can about her wedding such as what she has already done, how he proposed, what colors you are doing, etc. We encourage our bride’s family to take pictures so the bride can look back and see if there is one she likes the best. When our brides say YES, we pop the champagne for her and her guests and they take a picture with a sign that says ‘De Ma Fille Beauty’!
What’s the most surprising request you’ve ever gotten from a bride?
We had a bride who had a four day wedding and needed a different gown for each day! We thought that was awesome!
What’s your favorite wedding story from one of your brides?
I have a bride whose family descends from Ireland. As her and her fiancé were on a trip there, they stayed in a county that was the same as her maiden name. As they walked around town, they came across a beautiful chapel and decided at that moment they were going to get married there in Ireland. I thought it was too precious and of course it would be a gorgeous wedding in a stone chapel in Ireland.
What is the best advice you would give a bride as she is shopping for her wedding gown?
Not all brides react the same way when they find their dream wedding dress, if you do not cry it is okay, but if you feel it is ‘the dress’, go for it! It is just like finding your fiancé; there will be one out there for you – it just depends on how long it takes to find it!
