Bridal Boutique opened in 1990 after getting its start as a flower shop. Caroline (the owner) would often get phone calls inquiring about wedding dresses, and she would have to turn them away. She finally decided to open her own bridal shop in an old bank building in Old Town Lewisville, TX. The shop has since moved to a completely renovated old Masonic Temple a few doors down. The result of their hard work and dedication is over 7,000 square feet of beautiful wedding gowns.
We asked Caroline all about Bridal Boutique, and what’s happening in the bridal market:
What wedding dress trends are hot right now in Texas?
FLOWY! That is what everyone is wanting – loose fit for that boho look.
What’s the number one thing your brides are asking for?
Less structure and minimal beading.
How do you make the bride’s experience memorable?
We greet every bride at the door with a smile and make sure they feel welcome. Our associates ask them several questions about their wedding; anywhere from what the groom is going to wear, to how many people are coming, to what color flowers they are going to have – just to get the overall feel of the entire picture in their heads. We make sure they are taken care of while in the boutique and are offered champagne and water throughout the appointment.
What’s the most surprising request you’ve ever gotten from a bride?
To have her dress delivered to her in a clear box on her wedding day by her sales associate to put it on her and lace her up!
What is the best advice you would give a bride as she is shopping for her wedding gown?
Do not bring anyone that will sway your decision one way or the other. Bring those opinions that you value the most. You will never please everyone and it will make you more stressed out and confused in the long run. And if you find a gown that you love and wouldn’t change anything about it…. Pull the trigger and say yes! Don’t be afraid that you haven’t seen everything out there because you never will see everything! Also, do not feel like your experience should mimic the TV shows because if you do then you will probably be disappointed.
