We asked the staff of Lily Saratoga all about their Saratoga Springs bridal shop and what’s currently trending in the New York bridal market:
What wedding dress trends are hot right now in your area?
Blush-toned dresses, illusion bodices, tiered skirts and dresses with back detail are the trends most asked for.
What’s the number one thing your brides are asking for?
Back detail! Brides want to look just as good from the back as they do from the front, especially for that walk down the aisle. Our brides have been coming in looking for dresses with low backs, peekaboo lace or an interesting illusion details. D1934, D1897 and D1910 are three of our top styles from Essense of Australia.
How do you make the bride’s experience memorable?
Lily Saratoga is dedicated to the belief that shopping for a wedding gown should be a truly special and pressure-free experience. Our charming and elegant boutique sets the tone, while our devoted and knowledgeable consultants work one-on-one with our brides to deliver that special experience. We always aim to understand the bride’s personal sense of style and the vision she holds for her wedding day, and understand that each bride needs to go about finding her gown in her own way.
Lily Saratoga also emphasizes a strong working relationship amongst its staff. We are our own family in a way, and although we may have different styles and personalities, we all get along well and work as one cohesive team. That energy translates to our brides and our families, making them feel comfortable in our home.
What’s the most surprising request you’ve ever gotten from a bride?
We recently had a bride in asking for a red wedding gown! She ended up finding the perfect gown here that we are able to get in red for her wedding at a local museum. We cannot wait to see this couture and customized creation on her when it arrives!
What’s your favorite wedding story from one of your brides?
We develop strong relationships with so many of our brides throughout their wedding planning process that it’s hard to pick one wedding story. The best compliment to us is when a bride had such a wonderful experience here that she ends up bringing her newly engaged friend, sister, cousin or co-worker to us for their wedding gown.
What is the best advice you would give a bride as she is shopping for her wedding gown?
Your wedding gown should be an extension of your personality and sense of style. As Lauren Hutton once said, “Fashion is what you’re offered four times a year by designers. And style is what you choose.” We always encourage brides to make their wedding dress their own, something that they can envision themselves walking down the aisle in and love in pictures for years to come.
