What wedding dress trends are hot right now in your area?
In Louisiana, the strapless lace fit-n-flare wedding dress has always been very trendy. Our brides love the classic yet simple silhouette of these gowns. It is a style that is timeless. Also, another wedding dress trend are gowns that are in champagne, café, or latte. They are starting to be more open-minded to color.
What’s the number one thing your brides are asking for?
Currently, the number one thing our brides are asking for are wedding dresses with illusion necklines and backs. They want fit-n-flare gowns that have straps or illusion necklines.
How do you make the bride’s experience memorable?
Customer Service! We try to make our brides feel like they are at home shopping for the perfect wedding gown. We want our brides to feel comfortable with their consultant and in the gowns they are trying on.
What’s the most surprising request you’ve ever gotten from a bride? Â
We had a bride who asked one of our consultants to go underneath the gown. Our consultant held the tulle underneath the gown since the bride loved the gown so much but wanted a simpler silhouette. Â Literally, our consultant stayed underneath the wedding dress holding back the tulle so the bride could visualize the gown without the tulle.
What’s your favorite wedding story from one of your brides?
Recently, we had a bride who fell in love with a Stella York ball gown. When the bride and her mother both said yes to the dress, they wanted to bring in their grandmother. They want their grandmother to be able to embrace the special moment together with them. Being that their grandmother was very old and fragile, getting her out of the house and into the salon was a huge task for everyone. However, that did not stop them. The grandmother knew when the bride put on the dress again and walked out the bridal room that it was the one. Â She cried and so did everyone around her. Â How magical was it to see three generations of mothers and daughters share this special moment? We love our brides and their family! What is the best advice you would give a bride as she is shopping for her wedding gown?
The best advice when shopping for a wedding gown is to come in with an open-mind. An open-mind is very much needed when it comes to bridal gown shopping. Nowadays, brides have every social media platform to search for the perfect wedding dress. However, it is not until brides start trying on gowns that they realize what looks best on them. Sometimes, we would have brides that comes in with a specific wedding dress in mind, but end up loving a completely different style. Brides should be open-minded to trying on different silhouettes.
