What initially began as plans drawn up on a napkin at lunch has turned into one of Fort Worth’s top spots for brides to say ‘I do!’ to their dream gown. Eight years, and countless brides later, the staff of Bliss Bridal Salon still gets giddy each and every time they help a bride find the wedding dress for her.
We asked the staff of Bliss Bridal Salon all about their Fort Worth bridal shop and what’s currently trending in the Texas bridal market:
What wedding dress trends are hot right now in your area?
We are seeing the need for low backs and long trains, just like Pinterest told us we would – haha! Our brides are still a little more traditional than other regions so we still see a mix of all the styles, but nothing too outlandish. We can see that we are moving away from lace and back into some other fabrics so that’s exciting to see a good mixture of wedding dresses catching their attention!
What’s the number one thing your brides are asking for?
Something to make me look good! (you all know that’s true!) Each bride is different so it’s really hard to narrow down to one particular thing that they ALL are asking for. I want to be unique! I want it to be me! I want to look good! Those are all things they are looking for but for each bride, they are all different things too!
How do you make the bride’s experience memorable?
It’s personal! Every appointment, we try to make the bride feel like she is the only one in the store. We dedicated a lot of floor space to making each bride’s private appointment room her little safe haven of glamour during her appointment. We do have to limit the number of guests because of this but it seems to help them really listen to their inner voice and find their Aisle Style!
What’s the most surprising request you’ve ever gotten from a bride?
The most surprising request (or ultimatum rather) came from a mom. She “said ” that it was tradition that she also try on a wedding gown and take a picture with her daughter before she was allowed to buy a gown from the store. Needless to say, it happened and we have the pictures to prove it!
What’s your favorite wedding story from one of your brides?
OOOHHHHH! Do not get us in trouble! They are all amazingly perfect to the person that lived that moment!
What is the best advice you would give a bride as she is shopping for her wedding gown?
Listen to your inner voice. Your best friend may know you but she does not know your bridal self, which can be completely different from your normal self. Expect the unexpected. Love your gown more than life but also remember it’s one day and we want to be able to afford flowers, too!!!
