Real bride Olivia and husband Andrew exchanged vows in the most breathtaking winter wedding in New Zealand! She chose a stunning lace long-sleeved wedding gown by Stella York and took her groom’s breath away (which is exactly what will happen to you when you see these incredible wedding photos!)
Olivia and Andrew’s wondrous winter wedding planning began after a charming proposal. “My husband organised a spa day at a retreat at the vineyards. When I got home, the house was set out with thousands of red rose petals and candles where my husband was waiting for me and asked me to marry him. It was absolutely perfect!”
Just as perfect as the proposal, Olivia fell in love with her gown the moment she put it on. “I was looking for a long sleeve wedding gown. As soon as I tried it on, I fell in love. I tried on a few other long sleeve gowns, but they just did not compare. The ladies at the bridal store were so lovely and helpful and made the experience so relaxing and stress free.”
One of Olivia’s favorite moments? “The first look. My husband was waiting for me facing towards the snowy mountains. I was so excited and SO nervous. That moment when he first sees you in your wedding gown — it’s just such a beautiful feeling. It’s always my favorite part of every wedding. Also experiencing our first helicopter flight together to such a beautiful destination was incredible.”
“The day was absolutely amazing – freezing but amazing. We had our wedding ceremony on the lake with our closest family and headed up in the helicopter for photos.” Olivia’s dad came along for the ride and she jokes that he may have been more excited about the helicopter ride than the bride and groom! “We had two stops, the first on a mountain then headed over to a glacier. It was such an incredible experience. Peonies are my favorite flowers, so my bouquet consisted of deep red peonies and proteas.”
