Real Stella York bride Morgan and her new husband Mark had an elegant wedding that paid tribute to their heritage. Congratulations Morgan and Mark!
The proposal
He proposed in the gazebo in our back yard about two years before we got married. I came home from school and he had decorated it with lights, and flowers, and he had a bottle of champagne. It was so romantic! He was so nervous that he was trying to open the champagne bottle with a wine opener, so I offered to open it instead and when I turned around he was on one knee with the most beautiful ring ever and the biggest smile on his face. I immediately burst out in happy tears and jumped on him and of course screamed yes!
The Dress: Style 6586
I knew I was looking for a more form-fitting dress that was both classy and sexy. I tried on a hand full of other dresses in Washington DC but didn’t have that “moment” in any of them, also all of the dresses I found were a bit out of my budget. I then went shopping in my home town and immediately the bridal store (Silk Bridal) made me feel at home and really got to know my style and what I was looking for. I tried on a few dresses that were not the one, but then I saw this one this one that had been put in my dressing room and fell in love! I tried it on and knew it was the one I wanted to walk down the aisle in, and I am so thrilled with my decision.
The Wedding Details
We didn’t have a particular theme, but overall we wanted to go with a very elegant, loving, and fun feel with a bit of a rustic touch. Our color scheme was cranberry and gold, there were also touches of burgundy and white with lots of greenery in our flowers and decorations. Mark is Italian, so we made homemade limoncello for our party favors, and I am half Chinese so the red and gold color scheme is a very traditional color combination that brings luck and good fortune. We are both extremely close to our families and friends so we actually made a whole weekend out of the event which was so much fun, and my mom made cutout faces of Mark and me which were also a bit hit!
From start to finish the entire day was perfect! but I think my favorite part was seeing Mark for the first time at the end of the aisle. Once we locked eyes all I could see was him and it was the most amazing moment.
