Real Stella York Bride Miranda + Michael

Real Stella York bride Miranda’s vintage-inspired wedding has us crying happy tears! Her gorgeous lace wedding gown complimented her classic style, while touches of rustic greenery made her wedding feel intimate and romantic. We love her proposal story, we love her wedding day style, we love her love story – basically, we’re obsessed! For more of Miranda and Michael’s very sweet nuptials, keep reading!

From the bride: When Michael proposed, he came to my apartment to pick me up for a date night as I’d just finished college exams. To my surprise when I opened the door he had a dozen roses, a dress, and heels for me and was dressed in a suit! He told me to put them on and how we had reservations at 6 and when I asked where, the response was, “you’ll see.” I was already shaking with excitement thinking this must be the day.

I always heard of the revolving restaurant in Winnipeg but had never actually seen where it was so when the elevator doors opened to this beautiful restaurant, 30 stories high, it was breathtaking! We had a wonderful meal and at the end, there was a plate of dessert put in front of me with a ring box in the corner of the plate. My now husband grabbed the box, walked around the table, got on one knee and asked me to marry him! I obviously said yes!! He had already gone to the kitchen when he said ‘bathroom’ so give them the ring box and his phone to capture the moment. It was a beautiful and memorable evening ending with reminiscing and dreaming.

I wanted a vintage-inspired look with detail and class. I always dreamed of a dramatic train so when I tried on my dress I couldn’t stop walking in it while staring into the floor to ceiling mirrors, watching that gorgeous detail flow behind me. I new it was the one and when everything I tried on after was incomparable, I knew I just had to get it!

The theme of vintage was evident throughout our wedding decor from the old candlestick holders and silver trays as the centerpieces, vintage frames held black and white pictures of my husband and with our age being the table number. The suits were charcoal and bridesmaid dresses were blush. Another thing other than our pictures on each table that made it special were m&ms on each table since we are Michael & Miranda! We also made wooden signs together, hand painting the writing on. The arbor we were married under was made by my mom along with my cathedral veil. She also made our stunning head table skirt which was fluffy tulle and topped with candlesticks and greenery garland.

It’s hard to choose what was the most memorable part of the day. The whole day was so fun, so much laughter between our wedding party and photographer. But my husband’s vows were incredibly memorable as we said yes to forever!
