Real Stella York Bride: Danielle + Matthew

Romance was certainly in the air for Stella bride Danielle. From her dreamy proposal, to her dreamy Stella York wedding dress, we can’t stop swooning over her special day. Simon Carter of Bride2be Photography flawlessly captured their picture-perfect day, talk about happily-ever-after!

From the bride: The proposal was something I could never have imagined and it was extremely romantic! For Christmas 2013 I was given a hot air balloon ride over the Yarra Valley from my now husband. I was so excited as this was something I always wanted to do. In March 2014 we finally had our weekend away planned in the Yarra Valley, Matthew had booked the most amazing cottage in the middle of the forest – it was very romantic. We were booked in at 4am the morning for our hot air balloon ride so we decided to head out for a nice dinner before an early night, much to my surprise of what was about to happen. We went for a little drive to have dinner, and afterwards Matthew wanted to go for a drive to a waterfall not too far away. At this point I wasn’t thinking anything was about to happen as this wasn’t unusual for him to want to do things like this. We arrived at the waterfall and it was magical – it was all lit up with lights and was very beautiful. After about 10 minutes of looking around and taking some photos Matthew reached in his pocket and said I have something to ask you and got down on one knee…. The tears started from here! After a bunch of amazing words he asked me to be his wife! Of course I said yes through the tears and watched him take out the most amazing ring he got made and sent over from America. I had to ask him after this point what did you actually say to me? We kept it a surprise and told our parents in person when we got back, and I’ll never forget seeing the looks on their faces!

We decided that we would have the wedding in April 2015, not too far from our hometown at Perricoota Station in Moama, NSW – this was the most magical wedding venue. We were able to have the ceremony and reception here with the homestead as our accommodation. The bonus was that we were able to have all of our wedding photos taken around the property. Highly recommend this venue!

There were 2 amazing memories I have from my wedding day, one being the look on my Dad’s face when he walked in and saw me for the first time in my wedding dress. I had kept it a secret from him and wanted our photographer to capture that moment when he saw me for the first time, words can not describe how special this was! One of my beautiful bridesmaids even managed to capture it on video. I will treasure this forever! My other memory is seeing my man standing up at the end of the aisle and that feeling of happiness that came over me! I was a mess at my brother’s wedding and wasn’t sure how I would be at my own but seeing my husband to be up there made me the happiest girl in the world. After 10 years of being together this was a very special day!
