Real Stella York Bride Ashton + Tim

Perfect in every way, we are swooning over Ashton and Tim’s gorgeous Tenessee wedding! The bride wore a bubbly blush pink custom Stella York gown that made her whimsical and wonderful personality shine.

The Proposal

It was September 2017. Tim and I took a trip to the West Coast to visit friends and sea coast. One morning, we went to Malibu with some friends and decided to go out to the beach to take some pictures. My friend told me she wanted to get a picture of me and Tim but kept moving us around and I was getting frustrated lol I just wanted the pictures to be done (I normally am behind the camera, not in front of it) I knew something was up by the way Tim was acting and before I knew it, he was down on one knee, in the sand, asking me to marry him. I honestly don’t even remember what all he said because I was in total shock. It was the most amazing day.

Finding the Perfect Stella York Dress

My initial bridal style wasn’t what I ended up going with. I initially wanted this boho wedding in the woods but as planning progresses and I tried on dresses, I realized that my body wasn’t made for the boho dresses I dreamt of. The consultant at the local bridal shop insisted on putting me in an A-line ball gown just to “see”. The minute I put that Stella York gown on and walked out to see myself, I cried and said: “I look like a princess”. I still get teary-eyed thinking about that feeling. It was then that the wedding went from boho chic to romantic, elegant and laid back. Since my wedding was in October, I ended up adding custom sleeves to my gown and I’m so glad I did! I loved it so much!

The Wedding Details

There really wasn’t a theme. I knew the vibe I wanted to have. I knew I didn’t want it to look “too rustic”. No burlap or lace or mason jars. I wanted it to be classy and romantic but still laid back so everyone felt comfortable. We were at a cabin on the top of a mountain, of course. Colors were blush, champagne, burgundy, green and creme. The men wore dark blue suits with burgundy bow ties and my girls wore beautiful burgundy sleek gowns. A close family friend of mine officiated and it was the most personal, loving, hilarious ceremony I could have asked for. We played string versions of our favorite nerdy songs from LOTR, to Princess Bride to GOT.

Our families cooked BBQ and we had a pie bar instead of cake. We had two kegs from our favorite local Knoxville breweries which everyone loved. We also had yard games like Kuub, cornhole and more. We had a Jenga set that we used as our guest book. Honestly, I just wanted to make this wedding as unique and special as possible and we couldn’t have done any of it without the help from our friends and family. It was such a special day.
