Adventurous at heart, real bride Paulina always dreamed of a tropical destination wedding. Enter: the exotic Dominican Republic. Inspired by the beach and rich jewel tones, she looked perfectly at ease in her flowing Martina Liana wedding dress with bold pops of purple and turquoise featured in her bouquet. Her simple and chic style shone through all aspects of her special day.
From the bride: Adventures are my thing, and uniqueness is what sets things apart for me. I picked Dominican Republic as I have been there before on numerous occasions and I fell in love with the way of life. People do not chase anything, they are welcoming and easy going, and that is how I wanted my wedding to be. I wanted for my family and friends to enjoy their time for a bit longer than a typical wedding lasts, thus the destination wedding.
We had family from Poland and New York come and witness our Catholic wedding (yes destination does not mean it has to be on the beach). We stayed in Bavaro, Dominican Republic, and within the ten days of being there we had 38 guests coming and leaving. It was a blast both on the wedding day and during the stay. My grandfather was laughing that in Poland weddings lasts two days (they really do! ) but we beat that by 8 days!
It felt like an amazing fairytale. The Church, the location, my dream wedding dress, as well as the beautiful restaurant for the reception by the beach, made us feel so chic. I told my sister throughout the whole day that it was like an out of body experience. I never felt something like that in my entire life.
One word of advice is to make sure to pick a venue and style that works with your personality and to let professionals handle the rest. I trusted in my wedding venue decorators and my photographers and they did an amazing job! plus they gave me the time to enjoy rather than try to supervise everything..
