Whimsical. That’s the word bride Lyndsey used to describe her wedding day style. But a chance encounter made her wedding dress shopping experience truly unforgettable.
The Proposal
Logan’s family lives in Louisiana, and mine lives in Texas. Our parents had never had the chance to meet, so we planned an intimate dinner before the Christmas holiday. Before the dinner, Logan and I went to look at Christmas lights in a beautiful neighborhood around the corner. He then popped the question under a beautiful tree with lights cascading all around us. It was so fun to see both our parents together for the first time as a newly engaged couple!
Finding the perfect Martina Liana wedding dress
I knew I wanted to look romantic and whimsical – straight out of some fairytale. I brought my closest friends to my first ever dress appointment at Brickhouse Bridal. Unbeknownst to me, they were having a trunk show and the designer of my dress, Martine Harris, was actually there! When I put the dress on, they came over and offered to pick out my veil. I was told the veil was designed specifically to go with the dress, Style 1105 by Martina Liana. Once I put on the veil, I became so emotional and I just knew it was the perfect dress for me!
The wedding details
We both knew we wanted an outdoor wedding, where our guests could wander off and create their own experience. We stayed true to the Austin, Texas, theme in the hill country and had food trucks, outdoor games, beer donkeys, and a cigar rolling station. We had neutral colors with tons of greenery and hints of blush. The weather was absolutely perfect for a romantic evening outside. When the sun went down, the outside sparkled with beautiful lights hanging from trees, reminding us of our proposal. It was truly a dream!
The most special memory from the day was when Logan and I read our private vows to one another. We didn’t have a first look. We stood with our backs facing one another and spoke the sweetest, most authentic words to each other. It was a moment I will cherish forever.
