Bride Krista’s classically elegant wedding was filled with personal touches and sophisticated style. She used her love of animals as a jumping off point and was able to pull off a gorgeous ceremony and reception that left her guests breathless! She wore a beautiful Martina Liana gown that featured fine, natural lace and a sexy illusion back. The skirt made from rich Bellagio crepe and fell elegantly into a court train embellished with scalloped lace.

From the bride: Steven and I met at a charity event that Steven has been involved with for 17 years called Denver Active 20-30. It was an instant connection, our first date was at the barn to meet his thoroughbred he had rescued from a polo charity event named Jumangi. Jumangi is what bonded Steven and I together for life.We got engaged on July 4, 2015! It was a whole day event from a hot air balloon ride in the early am, horse back ride on our land in the country, to picnic with Prosecco and a live orchestra at the Country Club. Right before dark and the fireworks were to begin, he got down on one knee!

For our wedding, we wanted it to scream soft romantic sophistication – involving lots of little details and also involving our love for animals. I knew what kind of dress I wanted so it took me four trips to different bridal stores for me to say YES to the dress. When I tried on the 775 gown, my mom and I both knew it was the dress. Best thing about it is I got to meet Martine Harris and discuss what gorgeous work she and her staff does. Being a designer, that was a huge deal for me to be able to meet her. When I went to pick out my bridesmaids gowns, I chose the sequins gold gowns from Sorella Vita.

It was all about little details and again the designer in me couldn’t find the perfect wedding invitations so I found a woman in North Carolina who helped custom design our wedding logo. We then had letterpressed wedding invitations in an ivory tone with gold letterpress calligraphy and our “KS” custom logo. To top off our invitations we edge painted each invitation with gold. and sealed them with a gold wax “W” seal They were breathtaking.

I didn’t really want too much color in the wedding so we went with the Sorella Vita gold sequins bridesmaids dresses with white roses and just a couple of blush accent roses for the bouquets. The groom and groomsmen wore navy, three piece suits with white calla lily and blush wax flowers. Being that our wedding was outside in May at Arrowhead Golf Course, I felt a little blush pink as accent color was the perfect touch.
Our ceremony was on a gorgeous evening in May at Arrowhead Golf Club. We had Our string quartet played the traditional Canon of D and once all my bridesmaids were in position, the song changed and my dad walked me down (his only child) the aisle Tears were flowing as we all know how strong he is to be able to make it to this once in a lifetime day. When the officiant pronounced us husband and wife, white doves were released into the blue sky!

Our reception had very soft metallic and silver swirl sparkle linens with white chair covers and ivory chair bows and napkins. Centerpieces were tall, all white French Tulips and some tables were three tier vases filled with calla lilies, water and candles. To add our special love for animals, each table had a horse shoe frame with a calligraphy name of one of our animals and next to it was a picture of that animal with Steven and I. For instance Steven and I have a duck named Penelope that we rescued and nursed back to health. Our friends and family all know who Penelope is and how special she is to us!! It was a special touch to be able to add her and all our animals into our wedding.

I got to dance with my father “I loved her first” by heartland was another highlight of the evening!! Seeing the joy on his face and knowing what he has and has to overcome has made me the person I am today. It was truly a blessing to have both my parents there was priceless.

To end the night after a wonderful time dancing with amazing food, wine, family and friends we had a sparkler send off and away we went to honeymoon in Mexico and learn how to play polo at La Patrona Polo Club.

My biggest advice for brides is don’t forget the reason why you are getting married! If you don’t lose sight of that, you’re wedding will be beautiful.
