Real Martina Liana Bride Jordan + Corey

From a first kiss after junior prom to a chance text message years later, real Martina Liana bride, Jordan and her husband, Corey’s love story was in the cards! Even though the wedding rings did not make it to the ceremony initially (honest mistake!) everything about the California wedding was absolutely dreamy – especially Jordan in her lace and crepe Martina Liana gown! Read on to learn how this love story evolved, and how this sweet couple ended up happily ever after!

From the bride: Something funny about Corey and I is we were each other’s first kiss. This is our story…

It was about 10 years ago we went together to the 2006 high school junior prom. Corey went to Mission Viejo high school and was Captain of the Varsity football team. I went to Tesoro high school and was Captain of the girls Tennis team. Corey, with his curly fro, gained up the courage to put the moves on by the end of the Prom night as he walked me to the front door step. After some awkward small talk, Corey jumped the gun and came in hot with a goodnight kiss. BOOM. The deed had been done and that moment marked the event in BOTH our lives where they were no longer Virgin Lips. Little did we know, more than 8 years later they would find this out, that we were actually each other’s first kiss.

I moved back from Shanghai, China in September of 2014. Corey, noticing I had moved back home, decided to call me to see if I still had the same cell phone number he had saved in his phone from high school. I, noticing she was receiving a call from an (949) unrecognizable number, decided to answer out of curiosity of who it was.

Me: “Hello?”
Corey: “Jordan! You still have the same number!”
Me: “Haha…? Yaaa, I got my U.S. phone back up and running. Who is this?”
Corey: “I will give you a multiple choice of three answers and you have to guess.”
Me: “Omg, haha…”
Corey: “Am I Chris Conley? Am I so-and-so? Or am I Corey McClanahan?”
Me: “Baha! Corey! You’re so funny. How are you??”

After that phone call in December of 2014, Corey took me out on a fancy date to the Beachcomber in Crystal Cove, Newport Beach. I was very impressed with Corey and from that date on, we hit it off! And it was on this date that they were shocked to find out they were each other’s first kisses! Things got “boyfriend/girlfriend” official in April of 2015 and Corey and I fell in love shortly after. Since then, we have grown a lot together and have accomplished some major life changing goals individually, spiritually, and together as a unit. We couldn’t be more excited to start our new journey together as newlyweds after making our everlasting covenant as husband & wife on February 18, 2017!

The memory that sticks out the most was during our ceremony when we realized we actually had forgotten the rings!!! It was in the middle of the Bishop telling a story that I realized we didn’t have them and I turned to my sister and said “OMG WE FORGOT THE RINGS!” She look shocked and just said “Keep going. It’s fine, just keep going.” Like she was telling me to forgot about it and keep going on with the show, but I knew we couldn’t do that! The exchanging of the rings is such a significant part about the whole wedding ceremony! The Bishop obviously noticing the commotion, said into the microphone, “Do we have a problem?” It was so funny. I told him. Everyone laughed and luckily one of my bridesmaids saved the day by running back into the bridal room to get them. After the ceremony so many people kept talking about how funny that was and how it was definitely a memorable moment. 🙂
