With a rustic-chic theme in mind, bride Jennifer and groom Chase’s Texas wedding went off without a hitch! From an ultra-romantic proposal to an unbelievably gorgeous wedding dress, we’re so obsessed with this couple!
The Proposal
I went to my future mother-in-law’s house because a professional makeup artist was coming over to give us a tutorial. When I got there, my mother-in-law brought me out to the barn where the dogs were so we could make sure they had plenty of water for the evening. Well when I walked up to the barn, I saw my fiancé sitting inside on a chair with his guitar in his lap. There were Christmas lights hung, t-lights and rose petals all around him and the chair that was sitting across from him. There was also a sign that had our names and the date on it, 04-05-19. He just looked at me and was smiling so big. I immediately started crying. I went to sit in the chair across from him and he started playing on his guitar and singing “I’ll Be Here For You” by Robert Earl Keen. He made it about halfway through the song and started tearing up. He got down on one knee, told me how much he loves me and asked me to be his wife. I couldn’t believe it was finally happening after four years! I said YES!!! we hugged and kissed. When I turned around his family and mine were all standing behind us. Then we had a party with all of our favorite family, food, and drinks; it was the best night.

I was going for a rustic chic kind of vibe. I definitely wanted to stand out! I didn’t want anything simple. I wanted something fitted with either a lot of bling or sparkle. My mom, two sisters, sister-in-law and I all went shopping. We went to one place to start the day out. There were lots of pretty dresses and even some that I thought “could” be it but none that completely won me over.
Our second stop of the day was Brickhouse Bridal. Wow – that place is amazing! We happened to be there during Martina Liana’s trunk show. We picked out A LOT of dresses. By this point, we knew that we really liked the fitted style and a deep, open neck. I tried on the first dress we picked out and I instantly fell in love. I walked around in it, recorded myself in it, I didn’t want to take it off. My girls told me it was the first dress to try on there so I should try on the others we picked out. So I did just that. I compared each dress thereafter to that one. None of them came close to comparing. I couldn’t wait to put the dress, Style 1182, back on. I finally did and this time we put a veil on, added some jewelry and fixed my hair. We all started crying! I knew that was the dress. At the wedding, SO many people told me how amazing my dress was and asked who made it. Still to this day I can’t get enough of it and am looking for any reason to wear it again!
The wedding details
The theme was rustic chic. The colors we chose were maroon and mauve. We both enjoy hunting and had a lot of deer antlers used in centerpieces, on the sweetheart table and throughout the venue. Our koozies said, “Making Marriage Great Again” which was fitting since my husband is a Marine. We wanted a FUN wedding! We wanted a wedding where EVERYONE is dancing. I think we achieved that! We had the BEST DJ, Damon. He played the harmonica during the reception and we’d even dabbing sweat off my groom’s face. After the wedding, multiple guests asked “Where did you find him?!!” and said this is the best wedding they’ve ever been to. I wish I could relive the day all over again!
