We can’t help but swoon over real Martina Liana bride Ashley’s Mexico destination wedding! By perfectly blending the Cabo’s natural, beach elements, with her mid-century modern tastes, Ashley pulled off a ceremony and celebration worth sharing. And she planned the whole thing in just five months! That in and of itself is enviable! Last, but certainly not least, her sleek and sexy wedding dress from Martina Liana was the icing on the cake and made this bride simply stunning. Congratulations to Ashley and husband Steve… may there be many more trips to Cabo in your future!

From the bride: Steve and I always knew we wanted a destination wedding in Cabo San Lucas, as it is where we had our first date 5 years prior. What started as friends as a “last minute” date for his best friend’s wedding (who was a part of our wedding now) turned into the beginning of our relationship and who we are today.

Cabo has always held a special place in our heart. Since we both live in Southern California, we have always made it a point to make it back to Cabo for vacations over the years. On our last trip, we were able to eat dinner at the Sunset De Mona Lisa, which has spectacular views of the Arch and ocean as the backdrop. Ever since we visited there, deep down I knew that was the place for us. We got engaged a mere 5 months before our wedding date due to my husband’s upcoming deployment, so Sunset De Mona Lisa was the first place I called and it all fell into place from there.

Over 65 family members and friends were able to travel from around the country to celebrate with us and help us make memories. My vision of a mid-century modern, natural wedding was a dream and with the unexpected colors from the sunset and clouds, made it even more magical. Raw materials of wood and copper -my favorite material- were combined with geometric accents and classic Eames chairs. Pairing these elements with resin table numbers I hand-painted and cut-out acrylic name tags, made for a truly personalized event! As someone who DIY-ed a little too many things for a destination wedding, my planner was amazing to work with and I didn’t have to stress one bit. My father even pulled off a surprise display of amazing fireworks during dinner!

We had the best time of our lives on our wedding and it is extremely difficult to be able to pick just one memory. The ambiance, location, and most importantly, the people made our day spectacular! If I had to pick one memory, it would be walking down the aisle on our ‘First Look’, seeing my handsome husband waiting for me at the end of aisle. He had this beautiful backdrop of the ocean and clouds that seemed to be just glowing behind him and it was a perfect symbol of what our future together would be like. The evening was filled with laughter and dancing and we were having so much fun that they had to kick us out at 2AM because we didn’t want the party to end!
