The Proposal

This lovely couple is from Ireland yet got engaged in Sydney where they currently live! Sorcha said “Patrick organized that we would go and watch the sunset from the botanic gardens where you can see it set over the opera house and the Sydney harbor bridge. We had our close family all there and Patrick asked my mum to take a picture of us in front of the opera house and he then got down on one knee! It was so special to have our close family there. We then all celebrated with bubbly at the Sydney opera house bar and had a celebratory family dinner in the city.”

The Dress

Sorcha wanted a regally inspired wedding dress and fell in love with Style D2716. She said “Since I was a little girl I have dreamed of a princess style wedding dress. For me, it was always going to be a big dress but as I’ve gotten older I have wanted it to be more of an understated look combined with a regal style. The moment I put on Style D2716 I felt like royalty. For me, the simplicity of Style D2716 is what makes it so beautiful. I loved this dress as it was so timeless and elegant yet modern with a perfect ballgown silhouette. It was my dream dress AND it had pockets!” (Always a bonus!)

The Wedding Details

“Patrick and I were always going to have a traditional Irish wedding as that is what we have been brought up with. But we also wanted it to have a touch of regal elegance yet packed with lots of fun. I loved everything about the ceremony and it was Christmas so the cathedral was decorated beautifully. I wanted the bridesmaids’ style to complement mine and also to be elegant. I chose dark forest green cowl neck gowns which I thought looked stunning. To set the scene of class and elegance we decided to have a black-tie dress code which everyone absolutely loved and looked so well and stylish! We decided to get married on New Year’s Eve as we love to party so what better way to keep the party going then a wedding on New Year’s Eve! There were lots of sparklers, party poppers, party hats, streamers, confetti, bubbles, singing, and lots of dancing! It was everything we could have dreamed of and more,  An unforgettable start to 2020!”
