Saying real Essense of Australia bride Kelli was a master at blending classic wedding elements with touches of Seattle to create a Spanish-inspired, romantic wedding is an understatement! Her San Diego wedding to groom Anthony was personal, dramatic, and really captured their vibe as a couple to a T! Inspired by her own mother’s wedding dress, Kelli wore a gorgeous lace and satin A-line wedding dress that fit her like a dream.
From the bride: We chose our wedding location based off of 3 factors. (1) Had to be in the bride’s hometown of San Diego (2) The groom wanted an Ocean View to remind him of Seattle (3) Spanish Architecture is the couple’s favorite and the theme was Spanish romance so the venue had to reflect that vibe. La Valencia was our perfect match!
More than 50% of our guests traveled from out of state. To accommodate we made the wedding a weekend extravaganza with a welcome party on Thursday, Wedding on Friday and farewell brunch then cocktails by the pool on Saturday before people had to fly out on Sunday. In each guest’s hotel room or Airbnb we also provided a DIY welcome kit that included snacks, a hangover kit, sunscreen, do not disturb “we partied all night at the wedding” door hanger and the weekends itineraries (as well as custom invites for the night before and morning after events). This made everything about the wedding feel more special and personalized!
We loved surprising our guests with a custom mixed first dance song. We started off slow and romantic to “Can’t help falling in love” by Elvis and finished with “Keep on loving you” by REO Speedwagon. The guests loved it and it was a blast to hear everyone cheering and singing along to the second song!
