Real Essense of Australia Bride: Emily from Vermont

Did you catch Essense of Australia featured on Say Yes to the Dress America?

We were so excited for brides across the states to choose our labels for their big moment! Chief Creative Officer Martine Harris assisted brides during their Kleinfeld bridal appointments and ensured they found the wedding gown that fit their dream bridal vision. The series followed one bride from every state and ended with a group wedding extravaganza in New York City’s iconic Central Park! Real Bride Emily Fisher shared her fairytale dress shopping experience with us, from the moment she found the gown to the second she said “I do!”

Becoming a Kleinfeld “Say Yes to the Dress” Bride

“At the beginning of 2019, and for most of my entire life for that matter, I have not felt comfortable in my body. With my wedding rapidly approaching, I remember thinking about dress shopping and DREADING it. In January I ended up purchasing a dress on a whim and immediately regretted it. It was a beautiful dress but it wasn’t MY DRESS and I let my negative self-talk persuade me into buying it so I didn’t have to go to any other boutiques,” Emily said.
“I spent the next few months flip-flopping on my dress choice and feeling defeated that I spent so much money on a dress that didn’t make me feel like myself.” With just a few months from her big day, Emily was losing hope in having her true bridal style moment.

“I love podcasts. From true crime to current events, I listen to them all! One pop culture podcast in particular, The Morning Toast, had mentioned the opportunity to participate in Say Yes to the Dress. After a few interviews and a very silly casting video, my husband and I were chosen to represent his home state of Vermont!”

“We were flown out to New York City to film and over the course of the next few days, we connected with 51 incredible couples! We met Randy Fenoli and participated in a once in a lifetime wedding event in Central Park.” While Emily and husband James loved the ceremony, Mrs. Fisher’s favorite part was her Kleinfeld experience!

“My favorite day was when I visited Kleinfeld with my mom and aunt Sandra. My consultant, James McAlvanah, and special guest designer Martine Harris made me feel like a princess! The anxiety I had about my body faded away. In the moment of trying on dresses, I truly felt beautiful regardless of the size on the label. Reflecting on this now, it almost feels like fate.”

Emily chose Essense of Australia Style #D2478, a romantic lace design with an asymmetrical neckline that brings all the romance to any wedding day. The slight fit-and-flare silhouette of this gown gives it a relaxed vibe, which is perfect for it’s soft, layered lace details. A plunging V-neckline is the focal point of the bodice and is highlighted with organic, botanical lace details that extend into its unique, asymmetrical neckline. The back of this gown is open, highlighted on either side with sheer, floral lace details. Soft sparkle adorns the skirt and continues into a long train, complete with a floral hem.

To complete her bridal vision and showcase her Vermont pride, Emily went for an earthy, boho vibe. “I accessorized my breathtaking gown with white Birkenstocks, gold maple leaf earrings, natural hair clips and a bouquet of Red Clovers, Vermont’s state flower.”

Emily describes the entire experience as “simply amazing.”

“My favorite moment was walking down the sprawling staircase leading to the breathtaking Bethesda fountain and seeing my future husband with a huge, loving smile on his face. I’ll admit that I cried all the happiest tears when I reached the last few steps!”

Congratulations to the Fishers on representing the great state of Vermont, saying “yes!” and “I do!”
