Real Essense of Australia Bride Jordan + Cory

Inspired by whimsical romance, real Essense of Australia bride Jordan’s wedding was a perfect combination of sweet and sentimental. With an ethereal, elegant theme, she planned a wedding that reflected the love she shares with groom Cory. After a supremely romantic proposal, the couple chose to have an outdoor wedding with DIY touches and LOTS of flowers. And we say she executed her vision perfectly! Read more about her wedding below!

From the bride: Cory proposed by serenading me with my favorite love song – Can’t Help Falling in Love (which later became our first dance song) – at a local coffee shop where we had asked me to be his girlfriend. He actually counted the number of days that had passed since that day and when he proposed told me, “1,335 days ago I asked you to be my girlfriend – today I am asking you to be my wife.” It was such a beautiful and meaningful surprise!

I knew I wanted an outdoor, romantic, ethereal, airy wedding, so we chose The Lakes because they do all of their wedding in a gorgeous, sun-soaked white tent. The place is so beautiful that once we added some lush flowers, gold accents, and DIY touches, it was magical. I had always pictured my colors being greenery (Pantone color of the year!), mauve/dusty purple, and white. We used a lot of seeded and silver-dollar eucalyptus as well as white football mums, amnesia roses, and dahlias to add a romantic ambiance to the venue. Everything – including the weather – came together beautifully and it was the best day ever.

For me, having an idea of the look/feel that I wanted for my wedding day was so helpful in making decisions from dress to flowers to decorations. I had always pictured it being an ethereal, garden-party setting. The ball gown from Essense made me feel like a princess the moment I put it on, and even other brides and families in the store were staring and telling me that it was ‘the one!’

The most beautiful moment of the day was when I walked out to see my mom, my grandmother, and my bridesmaids in my wedding dress. My grandma (who raised me) and my mom were both with me when I picked out the dress and knew it was ‘the one’ – yet their reactions were so touching and emotional it was if they had never seen it before! They both took turns buttoning and zipping the back of the dress, and then the three of us hugged and shed many tears. It was a beautiful moment!
