Vanessa and Vitor eloped in Las Vegas only two days after getting engaged, but that didn’t stop them from planning a beachside celebration with their closest friends and family. They organized a bohemian wedding on the beach in Brasil where they first went together as a couple. The All Who Wander Lenox gown, with its graphic lace and flared bell sleeves, was the perfect dress for the occasion and matched Vanessa’s free-spirited personality perfectly. Read on for more of their love story, 13 years in the making.
Tell us about your proposal…
My proposal was magical. We were on a trip to Las Vegas and decided to take a day trip to the Grand Canyon. When the sun was setting, Vitor and I sat down near the edge to watch and that’s when he asked me… as we gazed upon the beautiful creation that is the Grand Canyon. We actually got married two days later, eloping at one of Vegas’ beautiful little chapels. Our wedding in Brasil this March was more of a celebration to experience love with our family and friends.
How did you know that the All Who Wander Lenox gown was the one?
I have a very bohemian/gypsy style and I wanted that to be reflected on my wedding day. I wanted to look very natural, light, and carefree at my wedding. I actually wasn’t even planning on purchasing a wedding gown. I planned on going dress shopping just to find ideas and to come up with what I wanted. Then, I planned on going to a seamstress to create something very simple for me. However, the moment I tried on the Lenox gown, I began to bawl. It was me. I couldn’t see myself in any other dress.
How did you make your wedding personal to your style and love story?
We wanted our wedding to be very down to earth and have a very free-spirited energy. I wanted everyone barefoot, with their toes feeling the energy that the sand and ocean bring. We went with a rust-colored theme with white and leafy rustic decor. The location of our wedding is what made it so special and personal. We picked a beach in Brasil that was actually the first place we went to together as a couple. After that, we’ve been back about six times. Caraíva is magical to us and it was amazing to have our family fly internationally just to experience this moment with us.
What was the most memorable part of your wedding?
My aunt celebrating our wedding was the most special thing to us. Vitor and I have known each other for about 13 years. We met through a very close cousin of mine, my cousin and Vitor were best friends. They lived in Brasil and as my family would visit every year over the summer (June through August) we grew up together and started catching feelings very young. Unfortunately, this cousin who connected us passed away in 2016. However, this cousin’s mother/my aunt was able to celebrate our wedding, and she knew our story better than anyone. She was there from day one. Her words were so beautiful and made everyone so emotional that we could feel my cousin’s spirit there, enjoying this beautiful and magical day with us… Our eternal cupid.
