The All Who Wander Shane gown was the perfect dress for real bride Kennedy’s rustic boho occasion. Coming into her wedding dress shopping appointment with her eyes set on another All Who Wander gown, Kennedy was surprised at the unique Shane gown. Its graphic lace and bold detachable sleeves made it exactly the gown she could see herself walking down the aisle in. Kennedy and her now-husband Seaton got married on their horse farm that they renovated into a wedding venue in only four months. Their special day was complete with a sweet first touch and their horse friends present in the pasture. Read on for more of the down-to-earth details!
Tell us about your proposal…
We originally had a dinner reservation at my favorite restaurant for that night. We went to my parents house to swim, and my mom was very pushy about me taking a shower after the pool. Looking back, this was the first hint. He told me that his parents were having family dinner at their house that night, and I was upset that we were going to my favorite restaurant instead, so we changed plans. We made it to his parents house (I was dressed in leggings and a T-shirt) and his siblings showed up dressed nice for “family photos.” His family started getting pushy about me changing into a dress, so I did, against my desires. We walked outside and stood under a big tree on his family farm, and he got down on one knee and our photographer (@brittanymay.photo) caught the whole thing! I didn’t even have time to get my shoes on. He had a long, elaborate speech planned, but all he could get out was, “you fought me on this all day! Will you marry me?” Easiest yes ever!
How did you know the All Who Wander Shane Gown was the one?
I knew that I wanted big, bold lace and something unique. I went into my appointment thinking that I knew the exact dress I would walk out with (another style from the All Who Wander collection, of course!). Dress after dress, I just wasn’t achieving the look that I wanted. Finally, my bridal stylist Nicole, pulled out the Shane gown. Myself and my party LAUGHED thinking it was a joke that she wanted me in the “grandma’s tablecloth” dress. I put the dress on and immediately cried. I could perfectly envision myself walking down the aisle in that dress. If it weren’t for my amazing consultant, I would have settled. Now, I want to wear my Shane gown every single day!!! It is so incredibly unique and just my style. It is absolutely perfect.
How did you make your wedding personal to your style and love story?
We got married on our own property! We bought this horse farm at the beginning of 2021 and remodeled a portion of it into our reception space, complete with bathrooms, a fresh paint job, garage doors out the back, and concrete floor. In just four months, we converted the space into the wedding venue of our dreams. It was made even more special by having all of our four-legged horse friends present in the pasture as we tied the knot! As for style, I wanted a rustic, boho feel that highlighted the natural beauty of the property. The entire day went off without a hitch. I planned the entire wedding down to the minute and we had the best day ever. We plan to rent the space out for future weddings, serving couples in the Central, OH area!
What was the most memorable part of your wedding?
Our first touch. I knew I wanted him to see me for the first time while walking down the aisle, but I couldn’t stand not being able to talk to him before then. We exchanged our personal promises and vows behind a door. It was such a special moment. We both cried like babies but agreed that it calmed our nerves before the official business.
