Best Sangria Recipes for Summer

Summertime means more time spent outdoors, and if you’re anything like us, time outdoors is best spent with a drink in hand! Sangria is one of our favorite summertime beverages – if there’s fruit involved it’s healthy, right? Here are a few of our favorite Sangria recipes that would be the perfect addition to any bridal shower, bachelorette party or just a night spent on a patio. Cheers!

Mint and Citrus White Wine Sangria

Ingredients:
1 bottle white wine
1 lemon, thinly sliced
1 lime, thinly sliced
8-10 mint leaves
2 Tbsp sugar

Directions:

  • Prepare simple syrup by mixing 2 Tablespoons of sugar and 2 Tablespoons of water in a small dish and microwaving for 30-second increments until sugar is dissolved. Alternatively, prepare a large batch on the stovetop using a 1:1 sugar-water ratio and reserve for later use.
  • Once simple syrup is reading, add 1 Tablespoon to each wine glass. Then add mint leaves and stir/lightly muddle. Next, add several slices each of lemon and lime.
  • Top off with wine and let set for a few minutes so the flavors can meld together. Top off with more wine and citrus as needed.

5-Ingredient Spanish Sangria

Ingredients:
1 750-ml bottle red Spanish wine
1 cup fresh orange juice
½ pineapple, chopped (roughly one cup)
1 orange, sliced into thin rounds and then halved
½ pear, cubed

Directions:

  • Slice fruit and drop into a large pitcher
  • Add orange juice and wine, stir
  • Refrigerate until serving. 4-6 hours would be ideal so the flavors can mingle. Drink within 1-2 days.

Sparkling Fruit Sangria

Ingredients:
1 orange, thinly sliced
½ lemon, thinly sliced
1 cup blueberries
1 cup raspberries
10 large strawberries, sliced
1 cup orange juice
1 750-ml bottle sweet white wine
1 750-ml bottle champagne

Directions:

  • Place all fruit and orange juice in a large pitcher or bowl, add wine and allow to sit in the refrigerator for 3-24 hours.
  • Right before serving, add champagne.
  • Taste. If you’d like it to be sweeter, add ¼ cup granulated sugar, honey or agave. Serve and enjoy!

Stars and Stripes Sangria

Ingredients:
Red Wine
Sprite
Blueberries
Strawberries

Keep the red wine and sprite at a 1:1 ratio.

Directions:

  • Layer blueberries and strawberries in the pitcher in an alternating pattern.
  • Add red wine and Sprite.
  • Allow to sit for a few hours to let the flavors blend. Enjoy!

Iced Tea Sangria

Ingredients:
4 cups fresh brewed iced tea (Passionfruit Jasmine is a good option)
2 cups white wine
Honey or simple syrup – ½ cup to 1 cup depending on sweetness preference
2 cups chopped strawberries, nectarines and mangoes

Directions:

  • Combine tea, wine and honey (or simple syrup) until honey is dissolved and sangria reaches desired sweetness.
  • Refrigerate for several hours or overnight.
  • Before serving, add in fresh fruit. Serve chilled, over ice.
