Wedding Inspo: Our Fave Wedding Invitations

Let’s talk wedding invitations! The all-important way of letting all your friends and family know every detail about who, what, where, when, and why you’re getting married. In a lot of ways, your wedding invitation sets the tone for your wedding – how formal it is, what the vibe is, what the colors are, etc. And of course, in the age of the internet, there are TONS of ways of designing your invites to get exactly what you want. But, there are a couple of things to consider first.

  1. Cost: Remember to set a budget for your invites. This will help dictate if you can get them custom designed by a graphic designer or need to use a service like Minted.
  2. Paper: Not all paper is created equal! It’s super important to choose whether you want a matte or semi-gloss shine and what weight you want the paper. If you can, we recommend actually touching and feeling the paper before you make a final decision.
  3. To suite or not to suite: Wedding invites can contain a lot of info! You’ll need a one-sheet invitation, an RSVP card and possibly an accommodations card. But really from there, you can add on anything you’d like. Some brides choose to have direction cards, envelope liners, a reception card (if the party is held at a different venue than the ceremony), and a response card with a self-addressed, stamped envelope. Printed maps, information on hotels and your registry card is often also enclosed in a suite.
  4. Design: You’ll most likely want to keep your invites within the same color scheme and vibe as the rest of your wedding. If you’re having a casual wedding outside, think about what fonts and colors are represented in the rest of your wedding. Same thing with a modern ceremony. You might want to pick a simple color scheme and a sans-serif font for a modern wedding.

So now that you know what to expect when choosing invites, here are some of our favorites to get you inspired!
