The Top 5 Rom Coms to Watch Right Now

I asked and you answered! Hey guys! It’s Head Designer and Chief Creative Officer Martine Harris here! I recently sat down for movie night at my house and watched My Best Friend’s Wedding with you via IG stories and asked “What is your favorite Rom-Com?” and wow did you deliver! Here are your favorites:

Martine watching a romcom

1. How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days

By far your favorite rom-com is How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days. And honestly, I love that movie too! Who doesn’t like Kate Hudson and Matthew McConaughey, though? Kate Hudson plays Andi, an editor at one of the top fashion magazines who wants to be more than just the how-to girl. Enter Ben (Matthew McConaughey) who thinks his romantic prowess can make any woman fall in love with him. When the two make secret plans for their relationship, things naturally backfire.

2. Pretty Woman

Pretty Woman is arguably the movie that made Julie Roberts a star. Some of the most iconic rom-com scenes, like the shopping montage, were pioneered by this film. And who can resist the rom-com king, Richard Gere?! Following the misadventures of Vivan – played by Roberts – this modern-day Cinderella story will sweep you off of your feet.

3. Bridesmaids

What happens at a bachelorette party doesn’t always stay and in the case of Bridesmaids, neither does the drama! Comedy heavy hitters Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig and Melissa McCarthy star in this over the top comedy about what happens when your best friend gets married and your life is falling apart. Grab your girls for a Zoom happy hour and get ready to laugh!

4. 27 Dresses

A true always-a-bridesmaid story, this classic rom-com is definitely a favorite for my followers. And who doesn’t enjoy the scene where Katherine Heigl terribly sings Benny and the Jets? The film follows Jane, played by Heigl, who seems to always puts the needs of others before her own, making her the go-to gal whenever someone needs help with wedding plans. But when her younger sister falls in love with the man of Jane’s dreams, things go ary.

5. Father of the Bride

The OG wedding rom-com, in my opinion, is totally worth a re-watch! And if you haven’t already watched this classic film, you’re in for a treat. Ridiculous blunders, cliche wedding tropes and a sweet, sentimental ending will leave you feeling nostalgic for your own nuptials.

Honorable mentions include: The Holiday, Maid in Manhattan, Sweet Home Alabama, 10 Things I Hate About You and Runaway Bride.

And there you have it! The top five rom-coms to watch right now according to you. So, grab your remote, some red wine and enjoy!
