After getting married herself in December 2012, Emma Louise decided she wanted to be a part of the elegant wedding industry and decided to open a wedding gown shop where she could help brides find “The One”. Whether a bride is looking for simple elegance or a more glamorous style – Bridalwear by Emma Louise has fabulous options for a variety of tastes, as well as the perfect bridesmaid dress to compliment every gown.
We asked Emma Louise all about her Bolton bridal shop and what’s currently trending in the UK bridal market:
What wedding dress trends are hot right now in the UK?
Brides are often asking for low, dramatic backs like designer Stella York’s style #5984 as well as lovely lace fishtails like her #5708. In addition, brides recently are loving classic A-Lines and princess gowns such as Stella York’s #6025 and #5989 with that little bit of sparkle. Designer Stella York is one of our favorites – if you couldn’t tell already – as they have a wide range of looks.
What’s the number one thing your brides are asking for?
Feature backs, high necks, sleeves or something different like a blush/café/gold colour.
How do you make the bride’s experience memorable?
The décor of the shop has been thoughtfully designed to help make our brides feel special and comfortable during an appointment. We always strive to be friendly, welcoming and make the experience personal to every bride. We are lucky to have a separate bridal floor that is exclusive to a bride and her bridal party during an appointment where the bride can view our collections in full. We listen to our brides and their bridal party as to what they envision for the wedding day and then with our knowledge and background we offer advice on style and silhouettes. Together we find the perfect gown for each bride.
What’s your favorite wedding story from one of your brides?
We have had so many lovely stories from our brides, it is difficult to choose one. What’s amazing is how different and creative the grooms can be! Whether the engagement is 10 weeks or 10 years we love helping brides find ‘The One’ and it’s a very special and rewarding moment when you see the joy and happiness on their faces as they discover their dream wedding dress..
What is the best advice you would give a bride as she is shopping for her wedding gown?
Every bride is different, but we suggest that when you are ready to find your wedding gown, research styles on the internet and see which designers you like. Once you have done this, try to find the boutiques that carry those designers or particular dresses you are interested in seeing. Try to make a maximum of 2-3 appointments in one day as more than this can be confusing and stressful for the bride and the bridal party. Finally, be open to try on other styles – as Bridal Sales Consultants we know our dresses in the boutique and that is why in an appointment we will often suggest gowns that can look very different off the hanger but will suit a brides’ body shape and look fantastic.
