Store of the Week: d’Anelli Bridal in Lakewood, Colorado

d’Anelli Bridal is the premier bridal shop in Lakewood, Colorado. They’ve been working with brides for over thirty years, and have always kept customer service as their top priority. From the first time she witnessed a bride’s reaction after finding the wedding dress of her dreams, Sandi – the owner – was hooked on the bridal industry and owning a shop. Starting out as a small boutique, she now has over 21 employees and is one of the largest bridal salon’s in the Denver area.

We asked Sandi all about the Lakewood bridal shop and what’s currently trending in the Colorado bridal market:

What wedding dress trends are hot right now in your area?

Our Colorado brides are asking for light, flowy gowns with movement. Soft pinks, champagnes, & gold are a big hit right now. Vintage lace with a plunging back is in hot demand.

What’s the number one thing your brides are asking for?

d’Anelli brides all want to be different, they want to stand out. Our number one request for bridal gowns is something unique but still somewhat traditional. Our brides are staying away from the “cookie cutter” white, strapless, ball gown. Essense of Australia and Stella York wedding dresses provide so many color options, sash, straps and silhouettes making it easy for every bride to create her own individual look.

How do you make the bride’s experience memorable?

d’Anelli makes memories by creating an individual experience. Brides are not just a number here. We create relationships with our clients. Providing the highest level of customer service along with knowledgeable and skilled consultants is always our top priority. The staff listens to every client’s needs. We educated our brides on each step of the d’Anelli process from trying on the first bridal gown then bridesmaids, tuxedos and alterations, to the final visit when the gown is picked up for the special day.

What’s the most surprising request you’ve ever gotten from a bride?

There are so many surprises in this industry, but I’ll start with the bride who had a 10am appointment and she needed a gown by 3pm for her wedding that day! We were happy to help and we were able to get a few minor alterations done in her short time frame.  Another bride wanted a camouflage ball gown.  Again we made some calls and were able to accommodate her.

What’s your favorite wedding story from one of your brides?

One of our favorite stories is a bride whose wedding was in Palermo, Italy, which is where her family descended from and Palermo was also her last name.  She was married in a 300 year old cathedral… named cattedrale di Palermo!

What is the best advice you would give a bride as she is shopping for her wedding gown?

Keep an open mind – you may be surprised. Limit your guests to those who will bring positive support. Don’t over shop when you’ve found the gown… stop! And of course have fun!
