There is just something so charming and romantic about a country wedding. The Swancar Farm Country House in Nottingham, UK was the perfect backdrop for Sue-Ellen and Ian’s special day – despite the rain. In fact, the rain made for some jaw-dropping photos! Sue-Ellen looked radiant in her Stella York wedding dress, and the photos speak for themselves.
From the bride: Ian and I got married at St. Mary’s Church Greasley, followed by a beautiful reception in Trowell. One of my favourite parts of the day was during the marriage ceremony when the vicar did a blessing for our daughter Jasmine, Ian and I, at the front of the Church. It was a beautiful moment. We chose Swancar Farm Country House as it is an absolutely stunning exclusive wedding venue both inside and out. We both felt confident that even if we didn’t get the nice weather we hoped for, that we could still have a great venue and limitless photograph opportunities. The food was all local, top quality produce which was enjoyed by all!
We didn’t expect it to rain all day, and even though it did, it really didn’t spoil the celebrations at all. We were both extremely grateful to our photographer, videographer, hairdresser, and venue for really going above and beyond to make our special day so stress free and perfect. I was very proud to wear the stunning Stella York wedding dress in ivory. I knew it was “the one” the first time I saw it on the website. I didn’t hesitate and promptly contacted Brides of Bakewell. When I first saw the dress it really was the most beautiful dress I had ever seen. Our family and friends thought it was truly a stunning wedding gown with such fine and intricate detail. One of the best moments of the day was when I saw Ian when I was walking down the aisle; his face was an absolute picture when he saw me. I think “WOW” was the only word he could muster. I have to admit, I did feel like a real life princess all day.
The atmosphere throughout the day was excitement filled with joy and happiness, it was just one big close loving happy family together and no one, especially me and Ian, wanted the day to end. I would say to anyone who is getting married and hoping it doesn’t rain not to worry, as it will be the most perfect day regardless.
