Real Stella York Bride Megan + Tim

Sometimes you see a wedding and you just know it had to rock. That was the case when we saw Megan and Tim’s elopement. Keeping 100% true to themselves, this cool couple planned an elopement in just three weeks! Yes, you read that correctly. Wearing a simple and casual Stella York wedding dress, this bride’s style outdid the gorgeous natural surroundings of her ceremony space. We love how her simple bouquet and greenery crown played off the dress’s floral lace vibe, too.

From the bride: I really don’t think you can prepare yourself for a proposal, and how it makes you feel. Tim was home on leave for Christmas, and I flew to his hometown in Maryland to spend the time with him. Because of our restricted time together, and I knew our timeline for when we wanted to get married (which happened wayyyyyy sooner than we ever originally planned, haha!) I figured it might happen while I was there. We had planned a trip to go to New York while I was visiting, and I just assumed it would be then. A day before the trip, he wanted to take me around his hometown and show me all the spots he loved. We ate brunch at the cutest little place, got coffee at a Cafè, and then he insisted on going to this park that he said overlooked the whole city. It was extremely cold and windy that day, so I was hoping it would be a very short trip to the park!

When we got there he seemed a little shaky, but of course, I just figured it was from the cold. (Clueless as it gets, let me tell ya) We got to the one spot he was talking about, and all I could focus on was this cannon replica that for some reason I thought was so cool. Maybe I could sense his nerves and it caused me to act goofy. Anywho, as we looked across the city, he was saying just the sweetest things possible to me. I then immediately knew what was happening and as he got down on one knee I was crying big, ugly, sniffly tears. After he placed the ring on my finger we just hugged each other for so long and didn’t want to let go. Then he just kept apologizing for how cold it was! It was adorable and sweet and was absolutely perfect!

We are both relaxed, go with the flow, and easy going kinds of people. I had always known that I wanted to look simple with a touch of boho vibes. Since we were getting married in a state park, I actually went barefoot 90% of the time! A greenery crown was always a must and I knew when it came to a dress, that simple and floral lace was what I wanted! My twin sister is actually a wedding dress consultant, so when my dress came into her store, she knew it was the perfect one for me. It was the first dress I tried on and I knew trying on the rest she had pulled for me would be pointless because everyone cried tears and I couldn’t stop smiling the whole time I had it on. I loved the simplicity of it.

We could not have asked for anything better for our wedding day! Well, “wedding day” sounds a little too formal for our sweet and intimate elopement, but nonetheless, it was simply wonderful. It’s funny, we actually planned the whole thing in just 3 weeks! Since we are long distance, and he is in the Air Force, our time together is always limited. We knew we wanted to get married as soon as possible, and we joked about just escaping to the courthouse on my next trip to see him. The joking got more and more serious, and we realized, why wait? We finally decided to fly our families out to Texas and marry each other in the beautiful state park, Enchanted Rock State Natural Area. My father is a minister and was able to perform our ceremony, which was super special to the both of us. We’re both super relaxed and go with the flow, and we knew our special day would reflect that entirely. So, eloping in a unique, gorgeous location was perfect for us. The exact day we got married is ridiculously unique and personal to our wonderful love story, which is something that we cherish so much. We met on March 3rd, 2017, and decided to vow to forever on March 3rd, 2018. It was absolutely everything I wanted in a wedding. Simple, relaxed, intimate, sweet, and something we will never forget!

I don’t know if I can pick just one favorite memory from the day!! SO many amazing things happened. But, if I just have to pick one, there is definitely something that pops into my head. After our ceremony, my sweet new husband and I adventured around the park with our awesome photographer for photos. After about an hour of shooting, our photographer played a love song and photographed us sharing our first dance atop a gorgeous rock. We both got emotional and overwhelmed with happiness at that moment, and as cheesy as it sounds, it felt as if we were the only two people in the world. That is definitely something I will never ever forget about our day.
