Kaeli and Richard exchanged seaside “I do’s” in the groom’s hometown on the South Shore. The breathtaking bride wore a romantic French lace Stella York gown, the perfect complement to her dreamy wedding theme.
The Proposal
Richard and I were living in Cincinnati at the time and both of our parents were visiting from Minneapolis and Boston. We had a full weekend planned, so I had a feeling he was going to propose. We’re both very close to our families, so it was the perfect opportunity! He wanted to spend some time together before brunch with our families, so he took me to Ault Park, where he first told me that he loved me. He got down on one knee in front of this beautiful fountain! Even though I had an inkling it was coming, it was still the most amazing and special moment. When we met our parents at brunch, they were all waiting with champagne and we spent the rest of the weekend celebrating!
The Wedding Details
When I began searching for my perfect gown, I knew I wanted something that would be romantic, flirty and fun, but appropriate for our grandmothers. I tried on a few dresses that looked beautiful, but they didn’t feel quite right. I hadn’t had that “big moment” at the first bridal shop and was very torn between a variety of styles. When I got to Raffiné Bridal and met my consultant Shirley, I was sure we would find the perfect dress. Shirley put me in a variety of dresses to see which brand I loved and naturally, it was Stella York. When I stepped out in my dress, everyone immediately started crying exclaiming “That’s the one!” When Shirley put a simple, skinny ivory belt over my gown, I knew it was the perfect dress for me.
Our wedding was in my husband’s hometown of Scituate, Massachusetts. It’s a beautiful town that was perfect for our wedding weekend, where our two families were all coming together for the very first time. Our theme was romantic elegance, with simple greenery, twinkling lights, and dusty rose details.
