From the bride: Our wedding day was a true fairytale. When I was 13 years old I attended a company party at the location with my father. From that day I knew that was where I wanted to get married one day.
My (now) husband and my best friend planned my surprise proposal complete with a morning at the spa with my best friend getting our nails done. The day after the proposal I sent in the deposit for the venue and a date without my (at the time) fiancé ever seeing the location in person. We chose the date by each looking at a calendar for the upcoming summer and writing down a date we liked without consulting with each other. To our surprise, we had written down the same exact date!
Mostly all of the decor at our wedding was DIY by myself and the help from my father. From the centerpieces, to the signs, and even a photo booth. It took a lot of hard work and dedication but I truly believe it made the day that much more special because you finally look around and see your vision put together for the first time ever and you can truly appreciate it because you can say you did all of that by yourself.
Other than marrying the man of my dreams, the most special moment of the day was when my mom showed her presence from heaven. My mom passed away when I was 8 years old and I can still remember her promising me that she would be at my wedding. Our outdoor wedding was delayed an hour due to a rain shower. The very second the last drop of rain hit a huge beam of light came down from the sky out of nowhere only hitting me. It was so bright I could not see a single thing and it was only touching me even though I was surrounded by friends and family. A decoration nearby in the shape of a heart was in the perfect location because it cast a heart shaped shadow that framed my face and my photographer caught the best photo of the whole thing. I knew immediately that it was her and it was the most amazing thing I have ever felt.
