Real Stella York Bride Bailey + Colton

A classic lace wedding dress, a man in uniform and a ceremony in the city made real bride Bailey’s big day spectacular. We love how traditional and timeless the couple kept their wedding, choosing simple colors and a gorgeous venue to tie it all together.

The Proposal

My husband serves in the Navy, and he was gone for some time last year for training. A few of my friends asked if I wanted to go to Savannah, Georgia one weekend while he was away. Once we got to Savannah, my husband surprised me when I was walking by the river with my friends. Little did I know that they had been planning the proposal together for some time, and he wasn’t supposed to be home for another month! It was the best surprise, and we all spent the weekend together in Savannah.

Finding the Perfect Stella York Wedding Dress

I pictured myself as a “classic bride” as I imagined lace on my dress, a long train, and a long veil. I also wanted a white dress, as my husband was planning to wear his dress whites for the ceremony. I loved my experience at Debra’s Bridal shop. My consultant listened to my wants and dislikes in a dress, and she helped me find the most perfect dress. She also added a beautiful veil that I fell in love with.

The wedding details

Our wedding was held at River City Brewing Company, a local brewery located in Downtown Jacksonville. The venue sits on a river, with the beautiful touch of the downtown skyline in the background. The venue also has a nautical feel with the decorations that are already provided that embellish the brewing company.

Our wedding theme had a romantic and coastal feel and decor that consisted of steel blue, white, gray, and silver, as well as candles, lanterns and greenery. The styling of our wedding was beautiful and created by Market31 Event Co.

Our military wedding was personal to our love story as we included family and friends that are serving and have served in the military. My husband wore his dress military uniform, as well as many other family members and friends. I included personal vows that touched on my promises to my husband as a military spouse. We also had a saber arch at the end of the ceremony. The military has shaped us into the people that we are, and we loved including military traditions into our wedding.

The most special memory was a private moment together before our wedding ceremony. We chose to have a first look and family pictures before our ceremony. After we had finished the pictures, we had some time before the wedding began. As our guests started to arrive, our coordinator and photographers led us away so that my husband and I could have a private moment alone. We had a cocktail as we stood on the balcony of our venue overlooking the river and downtown skyline, and we reminisced on the day thus far and the wonderful night that was about to begin.
