OK, could bride Alyssa and groom Frank be any cuter?! We’re so in love with this laid-back, oh-so-in-love couple. Alyssa chose to wear a sweet lace A-line wedding dress by designer Stella York for her nuptials-perfectly complementing her Berry Hill Mansion Venue.Â
The Proposal
It was July 2018. I was already in South Carolina at the beach for my summer family vacation and Frank was on his way down. I had this weird feeling that it might be the week he proposed. We had been together for 3 years, we were with my family, and we had plans to head from the beach to the lake to see his family, so it just made sense. He called me as he was pulling up to the house and I headed outside to the car. *SPOILER ALERT* I saw the ring box in his pocket! I was trying to stay cool, but of course, freaking out. My sister and her husband suggested we walk down the beach to a local bar for happy hour and I knew the moment was coming. As we made our way onto the beach, Frank lead me to the ocean and proposed on the beach with my sister close by taking pictures. It was such a special moment. We were able to celebrate with family which made it all the more special.
Finding the perfect Stella York Dress
I only had a nine-month engagement so I felt the pressure to find my dress. I was able to get a last minute appointment at Tiffany’s Bridal, where I found my dream dress. I always thought I wanted an A-line dress but was surprised to find myself pulling more fitted styles. I knew I wanted something elegant and loved lace. I ended up falling for a beautiful lace gown with a low back and the most beautiful train.
The wedding detailsÂ
Our wedding was the best day ever! Our handsome groomsman wore navy suits and my beautiful bridesmaids wore mauve color dresses. We had a simple, elegant, southern wedding. Our venue was the beautiful Berry Hill mansion built in the 1800s. We were surrounded by all our family and friends as we got married on the front lawn. We partied the night away with a live band. The light up tambourines was a huge hit as well as our Blueberry Lemonade signature cocktail. We ended the night with a sparkler exit and when everyone thought the festivities were over, they were all surprised with tacos from Taco Bell.
From beginning to end the whole day was special, beautiful and full of love from our family and friends. One of the most special moments was my husbands and I’s “first touch.” I didn’t want us to see each other until we were walking down the aisle but I knew that I wanted a moment with my soon to be husband before the ceremony. We chose to do a first touch rather than a first look. We wrote notes to each other and spent a quick moment reading, laughing, (and crying) together. I will keep those note forever.
