The Proposal
He proposed at Walt Disney World on Main Street, USA, right in front of the castle. I had no idea he was going to propose on our trip but started getting weird vibes from him the morning of. I tried to brush it off and not get my hopes up but low and behold he did it! A month before I had taken a trip with my best friend to Chicago, during that trip he had started texting my BFF pictures of rings and asking what he should pick out. She had to rename is number in her phone because she was scared I would get suspicious if I saw him texting her. Still can’t believe it!
The Dress
I didn’t really have a set style going into my bridal appointment. I wanted my gown to flow with the venue as I had already booked a gorgeous plantation house. I envisioned a bohemian meets southern look. I ended up trying on 4-5 dresses and finally went back to Style 905 The lace was both traditional and modern with lines that accentuate my shape, and the train and open back were to die for. Kellen at House of White was a dream consultant and was able to add the perfect veil and accessories to finish the look.
The Wedding Details
We decided to write our own vows, but neither one of us sat down and wrote them until the day before. It was so special to reflect back on our 7 years together and then look forward to what we promise in the future. Personalizing your promises to the person you love in front of all the people you love felt so deep and intimate. My wedding was very green and organic. My bridesmaids wore sage gowns and the groomsmen wore navy blue suits. Instead of cake, we opted for donuts.Â
