The proposal
Josh proposed to me the day we got our sweet bulldog pup Ranger. While we were driving to pick up the puppy, his mom came to our house and set up roses, champagne on ice, and a welcome home sign for the dog on our dining room table. As we entered the house I was in total shock by the beautiful display and he got down on one knee right in the doorway of our first home and proposed!
Finding the wedding dress
For my bridal style, I wanted to look simplistically beautiful. I didn’t want my makeup over the top and I wanted my hair down with natural beach curls. My dress shopping experience at Malindy Elene was absolutely perfect! It was just my mom and me in the store so it was very special to share that “yes” moment and pop champagne together.
The wedding details
My wedding was on a private island where my family and I have been vacationing since I was a little girl. It was also the first place Josh had met my parents at. I figured a nice island setting would ease all the nerves lol. My theme was beach chic which included a neutral palette incorporating lots of lush tropical greens. We chose Palm Island, 1 because of all the amazing memories there over the years but 2 because we wanted our guests to feel like they were getting a special weekend getaway, kinda like a destination wedding except it was only about an hour drive for the majority of our guests.
The most special memory from the day was our first dance to “My Best Friend” by Tim McGraw. It was the first time in the day that I actually lost it and started to cry, happy tears of course, but at that moment my heart felt so content and a sense of pure bliss took over.
