Real Martina Liana Bride Kristin + Eraclis

A romantic Grecian wedding day, we’re obsessed with everything from the Mykonos setting to real bride Kristin’s low back wedding gown. Read on to hear about everything from her super-sweet proposal to the dreamy day!

From the bride: Eraclis, my now husband, proposed to me on Thanksgiving Day of 2016. I was completely shocked! I am pretty smart and clever and thought I would know it was coming however not only did I not know he was proposing, I also didn’t know he had spent three months designing and buying a ring and 3 weeks prior had asked my father for my hand in marriage. I had run a 5K turkey trot that morning and then was going to drive to his house so we could drive together with his parents for dinner. I decided to let me paint my nails since it was Thanksgiving. As I was texting him he told me, “let them dry, don’t mess them up!” He said that because I ALWAYS mess up a nail because I don’t wait long enough to let them dry. I arrived at his house and instead of him coming down to get me like he usually does he told me he was shaving so just to come on up. I thought that was odd, so I began walking very slowly thinking something was up. I opened the door to find rose petals leading into the bedroom, then to find a heart with a K in the middle and a note. I picked up the note and began reading the first line. I must have read the first like 3 times as I was so shocked to all my surroundings. He came out of the other room and got down on one knee. I began crying because I was in utter shock and was so ecstatic that I got to marry my best friend. He designed the ring of my dreams and managed to film the whole thing. We then spent the night with family and friends celebrating our engagement.

The number one thing I wanted in a wedding dress was a low back. I loved the low back styles and when I put on the dress I chose I knew it was the perfect dress for a Greek island wedding. The beading was so intricate and beautiful. I think it dropped some jaws when I came up the aisle with my father.

I am a purple girl! I love, love, love anything purple! Since we decided to get married in Mykonos, Greece where my husband’s cousins live I know it needed to be light beautiful colors. I also wanted to mix grey in with purple and not have my bridal party identical. I decided to do a couple girls in 2 shades of grey and a couple of2 shades of purple. I was originally going to have 5 however, my best friend who was my maid of honor developed cancer and was unable to attend the wedding. Getting married in Mykonos was a dream come true. Both my husband and I have grown up Greek and have gone to Greece to spend our summers with cousins. It was very special to have a greek wedding on the most beautiful island in Greece. We partied until 5:30 am and had the time of our lives!

The entire day was an absolute fairytale. It was a very stressful process as planning overseas is never easy but the wedding day, getting to marry my best friend is a day I will never forget. The most special memory is right after we cut our cake and fireworks over the sea went off and everyone was shocked and in awe. At that moment I got to look at all my guest and then look at my new husband and realize how blessed we were and how truly magical this day was.
