Holli and Alex planned the most spectacular, romance-infused wedding in snowy Dillon, Colorado. These dreamy December details will make you swoon!
Holli traveled to three different states to find her dream dress! Some brides don’t have that big moment until they have the gown on, but Holli knew it was her wedding gown the moment she laid her eyes on it. “I knew the moment I saw the spaghetti-strapped stunner 906 I was going to love it! The shape on the hanger told me it was MADE for an hourglass figure. I wanted to look sexy but glamorous. The white beading on the dress sparkled like snow. It was befitting for the glamorous winter queen look I was going for.”
Holli chose the ever-gorgeous Martina Liana Style #906!
This textured mermaid wedding dress with deep-V neckline from designer Martina Liana is a romantic bride’s dream come true. Lace and tulle on silk Zibeline create a sexy mermaid silhouette that features a low, plunging neckline with a scalloped lace edge. Elongated cutouts around the waist are covered in textured beading that is unexpected and flattering. The juxtaposition created by the negative space between fabrics is unique to this dress. The dropped waistline and long flowing train are adorned with lace cutouts and a lace hemline.
The theme of their nuptials? “Winter is Coming,” paying homage to the couples’ self-proclaimed “obsession,” Game of Thrones!
“Alex and I both loved the Colorado mountains and knew snow was not an option in South Mississippi. I wanted it to look like a truly regal winter ceremony, worthy of House Stark! Nothing too traditional or cliche. I wanted to honor the beauty of the natural scenery. I chose wooden benches with live Christmas trees lining the aisle in golden pots. My sister and only bridesmaid wore emerald green velvet with a beaver cape wrap. We played hauntingly beautiful winter tundra music as the guest arrived and the parents processed in.”
“It gave the atmosphere a Game of Thrones feel that perfectly matched our gold cups of cider that stated, ‘Winter is Here.’ It was moody and glamorous and perfect. I wore an ostrich feather cape my mother made that was glamorous and fit for a queen or a Khaleesi! We toasted champagne on the mountain and took in the breathtaking mountain view! It was truly magical!”
Holli’s favorite memory from the big day? “The moment before I walked down the snowy path on the mountain to stand at the altar,” she said. “I looked out over the mountain to the trees, admiring the frozen lake and glittering winter forest. I took a deep breath and said goodbye to my single life and took the steps towards a new life of purpose – a shared life with the perfect man!”
Hard to say if we’ll EVER get over this gorgeous wedding. Congratulations to the Creels!
