A long-distance relationship turned into a forever love for this Martina Liana bride and her groom. From the Spanish-inspired architecture to Ariel’s stunning lace wedding dress, every piece of their romantic wedding day was perfection. We couldn’t love this wedding day more!

From the bride: Mike and I had been together for six years before we got engaged. We had done two years of long distance after college because Mike joined the Navy to become a pilot and I had already gotten a job back in our hometown.

When Mike was stationed in Texas for his next phase of training, we made the decision to move in together and finally end the distance. After living together for almost a year, we took a trip to Austin, TX on the Fourth of July where Mike proposed in front of a GORGEOUS view of Lake Travis.

We knew we wanted to get married in South Florida, because it’s where we both grew up, and where most of our family and friends lived. When I came across the Cocoplum Women’s Club, I knew it was the perfect location. The old Spanish Architecture, and timeless beauty of the Coral Gables building immediately made me fall in love and I knew the venue was perfect for my romantic wedding theme.

In the middle of planning the wedding, we moved to Washington State, so planning the wedding from across the country was quite difficult. However, the help I received from family and from the wedding coordinators at the Cocoplum really helped!

Overall, the wedding was absolute perfection. The beauty of the location, the Military uniforms, the love of our family and friends really made the day feel incredibly special. With my hair and makeup done, I had put on my Martina Liana dress and honestly felt like a mermaid princess. I also couldn’t have asked for a better photographer to capture our special day. Everyone tells you your wedding day is a blur, and Jessi made sure I had plenty of amazing pictures to remember every single moment! The day was a fairytale, and I married my prince!

The most special memory from the day was seeing it all come together – the hair, the makeup, putting on my dress. Not realizing how emotional I would get walking down the aisle with my dad and seeing my future husband standing there waiting for me was also a special memory.
